Hi guys and gals. Picked up a 99 Tahoe last Friday. Not my first one but it's nice to have another. Been some years since the last one. Been lurking around the website since about Monday so I figured I might as well come in and say hi. Looking forward the vast information that can be found on here. Cya in the posts.

I haven't figured out the pic thing yet. And Deland is about 20 miles west of Daytona. I used to listen to Bob and Tom years ago...like 20 or so...are they still around? Pretty funny guys. I used to listen on my commute when I lived in Indy.

I think I figured it out. So I did a major tune up to include cap, rotor, plugs, wires, cam and crank sensor. Changed the fuel filter, put on a new master cylinder, New AC compressor, and new power steering lines. Runs like a top. I still have a few things I want to do. I need a new exhaust as this one is rusted through. I need to take this ancient alarm system out. Those will probably be done this coming week. I also have some cracks in the dash that I will fix with an overlay. The seats need recovered of course and I will re-pad the driver seat. I want to do a double din stereo with built in gps too. It will need to have the hood and roof repainted as well. I hope to get all this done this year. I have been thinking of some other stuff like a larger sway bar in the back and maybe a corvette servo for the trans. Oh...and tint the driver and passenger windows. What else would you guys suggest?

I am unable to do a lift kit as I am handicapped and wouldn't be able to get in and out very easy. I have been thinking about different rims and some bigger tires though. I did think about a brush guard too. I used to have a 99 z71 tahoe that had it and i love it. It also had the painted bumpers and front grill that I have been thinking about. Thanks for your input. Wheels and Tires are probably a next year thing as these tires are in great shape. I will do them at the same time. Here is a pic of the z71.

Z71 flares like the old one? How about a supercharger or 383 or 402 cid motor?

I have been thinking of the flares too. But the new truck is so clean I am not sure yet. I need to research the difference between the two models. Plus, i am probably going to change this console. No drink holders in the front other than the dash ones. They just aren't good enough. So that will be a project. As far as the motor goes, I would love a supercharger, but that is way out of my price range.

The running gag is " Deland, FL is by De sea".
