I had my Yukon XL AT4 (6.2) in for an oil change yesterday and they wanted to do this software update which they said was released on 7/23/24. Based on the horror stories I’ve read on here about these types of updates bricking a perfectly-functioning vehicle, I declined. Any idea what this one’s all about?

I’m not finding anything either on that N24 #… the bricked rigs have always been OTA updates that fail and drain the battery. If they install it at the dealer I wouldn’t worry about it.

OMG....this is like me but I did allow them to try to update the radio. Now it won't work and the whole info center will not work. It has been at GM Cavender in San Antonio for 6 days now with no resolution. My Tahoe keep sitting outside on the back lot and has not moved since a day after I took it in. They are still waiting on GM to get with them for a resolution. Can anyone help on this??? I was able to get a rental car but it's a Nissan Kicks. Can tow my camper with that. Oh!!

Sounds like your dealer is not very familiar w/ the update process...I have had my radio updated probably 4 or 5 times and never an issue.

I just had my 23 Tahoe in today and got this update. It was at Y171.4.2, and now it's at Y172.6.1. Just got it back, and no issues yet. Fingers crossed.

I just had this Data Gateway Module recall/update done on my 2024 Tahoe. Just under 6k miles.
Took way longer than expected a couple hours for the over the air update and computer sync. Dealer told me approximately 1.5 hours when I dropped it off after getting recall notice.

So far everything seems fine but I did have to sign back in to some apps like Google. I do notice more light activity from truck than before the update when I get close with key fob.

Trailering boat to go offshore fishing tomorrow and I will get a better idea if anything is different after that.

So far, so good with my update. I believe the audio cut-outs on or shortly after start-up seem to be gone. But will give it a couple more days before I declare victory...

I had posted about my radio update. The radio would mot reboot. So GM ordered a new radio and just put it on 3 days ago. So far it is working. I took it in on Sept 3 and finally fixed on the 27th. Not fun driving it without the radio and the info center not working. Only the backup canera was working until they got the new radio installed.

Ok so since this “update” I have had to sign in to carplay a lot more, it could be coincidence but it seems like my phone is not connecting as well as before. No trailer app issues and once connected my carplay seems to be working fine.

Another issue that I noticed is with my powered running boards. A couple times since the update the steps didn’t deploy when opening door. Pulling out the obd plug and plugging it back in fixes it but it has happened twice now since the update. Next time I will bring it back to the dealer!

Anyone else have any issues with this update?

I had this update done and after that I have had about 20 different codes pop up and my camera on my right side mirror stopped working for a few days after the update. It came back so I did t bring it in.

My CEL came on on Thanksgiving and I brought it in and that’s when they found all of the codes. I found a thread on the gm-trucks forum and it’s 13 pages with complaints some of which are tied to the infotainment. It could have just been done poorly by the dealer too maybe it all of these issues only started with the update.

My car is with the dealer now and they are unsure of how to resolve this. I’m thinking the update was applied and it was corrupt and/or there is some issue with the code itself. It’s a 24 Tahoe High County Diesel.

My money is on a bad battery in your truck. Perhaps they didn't put a battery tender on it when updating? Perhaps you just got bad timing. With all those Comm errors...my guess is low voltage.

Was the dealership able to resolve the issue? My 3.0L Yukon Denali has similar issues.
