My Suburban is a 2001 as well, so I'm sure that I can guide you through any install questions that you might have. I don't include instructions, but I do label each wire so that's as close to instructions as you can get. I did do a pretty detailed write up when I installed my Efans and harness back in 2011. Click here: http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/i-installed-e-fans-on-my-2001.28336/
In that thread, I explained how to wire up that extra relay that is needed to tie into the AC compressor wire on the 00-02 trucks, but if I pre-wire the relay into the harness for you before I ship it out, then all you need to do is connect the trigger wire to the AC compressor wire.
As far as the computer tuning and all, I am not a tuner so I can't say too much on that. I do know that it needs to be tuned to have the pin turned on. I have a Blackbear Performance tune and they turned on pin 42 in the computer which is the temperature trigger pin, and the AC pin is just connected to the compressor. I've been told by people over on PerformanceTrucks forums that if you are using HP Tuners, you can update the entire operating system or something like that to the 04 software and you can use two pins just like the 03-06 trucks. I'm not sure how the hell that even works since the 99-02 trucks don't even have an AC pressure switch connected to the computer like the 03+ trucks do. Regardless, like I said I did it the easy way just like many others do and just connected to the AC compressor wire and it's worked fine for me ever since the summer of 2011. This is my daily driver, so the fans get a lot of use and I have have ZERO problems with my fans in these last 8 years of brutal Louisiana summers.

If you already have some pigtails on the fans, then you can just touch the wires straight to the battery to test the fans. If you don't have any pigtails, then get two pieces of 10 or 12 gauge wire and connect them to the battery. And CAREFULLY touch the ends of the wires to the two pins on the fan motor to see if it comes on. Just be careful not to short the wires together, especially when touching them to the pins on the fan motors.
Whenever I buy E-fans from the junkyard, I test them by connecting the fan motor to the battery on my cordless DeWalt impact, and that works great to test the fans.

Thanks, Justin

I haven't been online in at least a week or so, sorry for the late reply. But I am completely sold out of harnesses right now. I will update this thread if and when I come across any more. :Handshake:

Just bumping this thread again because I picked up two more of these harnesses yesterday. Just need to clean them up, test them, and re-wrap them in new wire loom and they will be ready to ship out. $110 shipped.

Several reasons:
-MUCH better cooling at idle and at slow speeds like creeping through a parking lot or stuck in heavy traffic.
-MUCH better AC performance. I've noticed that my AC blows a lot colder since I added the Electric fans, especially at slow speeds. The AC used to actually blow cool instead of cold when sitting still or driving under 10mph, now it's always cold.
-Increased Horsepower because of less drag on the engine crank from the clutch fan. Now I personally have not noticed any improvement in my truck as far as more horsepower, at least bit enough that I can FEEL a difference, but many others who tested their vehicles on a Dyno, show HP increases after swapping to electric fans. Just do a Google search, and you will see.
There is a reason that GM decided to install electric fans at the factory on all 05+ half ton trucks instead of clutch fans. Mostly because of the benefits I mentioned above.

So what should I look for at the junkyard, do I buy the whole fan assembly? I looked on car-part.com and most fan assemblies are $20, the aftermarket harness and ECU flash seem to be the expensive part

This is @ScottyBoy for sale thread. I'm not sure he would be willing to show you how to circumvent his process or he's better than me.. As an owner of one of his harnesses you can't beat what he is offering. He does all the work, put a lil coin in the mans pocket for his hard work and buy one from him. I've tested mine already in 100degree Texas heat idling for about 45 minutes trying to leave a graduation ceremony. A.c. nice and cold.. Everything about the factory harness is better than aftermarket and I have no regrets.

I'm not trying to circumvent his process, I'm just trying to figure out what parts I need to get in addition to his harness.

I think I misunderstood what you were asking... You just need the cooling fan assembly. You can buy them at a junkyard or new from places like Rockauto. I did both and prefer the new Dorman unit from rockauto. You tell scottyboy what year vehicle and he can put the harness together for you. I think I added an A.c. wire tap for mine since it is pre 03.

You may need an alternator upgrade or some have done a pulley swap to keep voltage up. I have a bigger 270a alternator for the extra current draw.
