1997 Tahoe 4wd needing front brake dust shields. Anyone find a source? Available for 2wd-RWD from Dorman but not for 4wd that I find.

Take a look at the two links below and see the Tahoes that are in the year range. I may be able to do a run to see if they're 4wd and if the backing plates are still there. Interested in used, if they're in decent shape? As I'm not familiar with these, any tips on removing them? What all needs to come off?

I haven't been to the Upulls lately but should try to get out there yet before the weather gets nasty. I need to do some window shopping....

LKQ UPull

Aurora UPull

EDIT: looks like the hubs might need to come out; if so, I wouldn't able to do it mobile. Or do the shields come off with just two of the hub bolts like I see in the TRQ video? Could also contact car-part.com yards to see if they can provide them.

I appreciate the offer! it has to be an older K 1500 series or Tahoe/Yukon 88-99. Hub bolts need to come off as there are 2 holding the shield. Have to strip the brakes first. I haven't looked used locally yet, I know where there's a couple.

I found a Tahoe at a friend's junk yard that I can pull them off of. Now I just need the gumption to go pull it apart.
Thanks again for the offer. I'm sure if you got them someone would need them as they are unobtainable new.

I'll keep them on my list of things to look for. Just so I'm prepared, can you tell me what specific sockets are involved? Looks like an Allen socket (size?) for the caliper brackets, and an impact (size?) for the hub bolts.

3/8" allen for brakes, 15mm for hubs and they are tight. My 1/2" impact socket won't fit through the hole in the hub for the hub bolts had to use 3/8 drive socket.

Just for reference I saw these on a '98 Tahoe today at the UPull; they are pretty solid. Do these look like the correct ones? VIN 1GKEK13R7WJ712240. I'd have pulled them but didn't have a 3/8" Allen to pull that left caliper; I'll need to pick up one.

Just bought a pair on eBay, 4wd. I know rock auto only has 2wd dust covers. Unsure how well the eBay ones will fit waiting for my wheel bearing and hubs to come in to put em on
