1997 Silverado SUV Tahoe 2WD to 4WD conversion

Hello Folks!
Greetings from Mexico.
I have a MX 1997 Silverado SUV, same as a Tahoe.or a Grand Blazer.

I would like to ask you if there is a chance that I can convert the 2WD to a 4WD with a floor 4x4 shift handle.

Assuming the Mexican trucks are the same as the American versions, with different names- it should absolutely be possible. Just find a 4x4 version of your truck, and swap parts.

I bet it'd save a lot of work and frustration to just buy the 4x4, and sell the RWD truck.

The front suspension is completely different, the frame would probably have to be modified to change to the torsion bar suspension if it's even possible and probably also lacks the mounting locations for the transfer case and front axle. You'd be better off buying a 4x4 truck to begin with.
