Finally got my 2015 PPV

Hey there, new to the forum and the GM platform. I picked up this 2015 Tahoe PPV on Thursday. Was the police chief vehicle and never used on patrol.. relatively low engine hours at 2600. Ended up flying out and driving it back home 1400 miles.. fun drive running on 3 hours of sleep lol. But we’re home! Looking forward to making some upgrades in the future, just got my inspection and oil change done.

Slowly, yes. I have a lot of things I want to do, but I’m not in a hurry. First thing was a second key and two key fobs and new wipers. Nothing big. When I find a nice center console, then the fun begins

With thecopcar I had to figure out why the reverse lights didn’t work first. The relay as shot, but it’s hard wired into the main fuse panel, so I got to change that.

with theothertwin the horn didn’t work. It took me a couple of weeks to track down the incorrect reconnection of the horn ring.

then it was inspection and registration.

So far I've done:

Installed:
-LED Bulbs in Low/High beams
-Fixed flapping trim on doors

Pending:
-Spyder Fog Lights (waiting for OEM switch/relay)
-LED bulbs on taillights (pending install)
-LED spotlight (pending install)

What it needs:
-Good wash
-Check brake pulsation.. they only have about 20k miles on the rotors/pads but I think there might be some pad deposit on the rotors.. gonna try bedding them
-Paint correction
-Fix tab on rear bumper that is slightly sticking out

I'll probably work on the radio situation next and maybe upgrade the steering wheel and cluster later on. The IO3 radio really does suck but so far at least I can still play my music from my phone using the USB cable. Need to take some pictures soon - I don't drive it everyday since I work from home but been taking it out every chance I get. Haha.

I have so much to do, but it’s been hot and humid so I haven’t done much. I got my new tires, and not much else. I think I’m going to dump the 8” screen and look in to the 12.1”. I still need a center console.

For thecopcar I made a console using 4 50 cal ammo cans mounted on a Jotto floor plate.

I got a Lund console for a 2015 Tahoe at auction from DPS. I paid $5. I need a floor plate for it still.

I may install it in thethirdtwin at some point.

At least better to stick with something local you can check out in person before bidding.

I also just got a push bumper I want to install today or tomorrow if I have the chance. Why dump the 8" screen btw? Thought that was one of your big selling points for the 2018+. The 12" Android screens are not for me, I've had one Android headunit before that was sluggish and underpowered and the specs on the Phoenix don't look too appealing to me. If you do decide to dump it, sell me your hmi and screen lol.

If I do, I’ll let you know. It was a big selling point for me. I bought a wireless adapter for CarPlay but it uses Wi-Fi and Bluetooth and I don’t want that. I thought the 12” was nice because it had a video input. I figured the OEM screen and carplay might pay for the new screen. I don’t know…I’ll do more research on them

Made a couple of changes..

-Spotlight is on
-Full LEDs in front headlight
-Push bar is on
-Washed car!
