Having issues with the window switch/module on my 2004. Replaced the stock switch earlier this year because the windows wouldn’t go down all the time and when they did, it would be a pain to get them back up. The door locks started randomly trying to lock and unlock also.

I pulled it and replaced it with an Amazon part. After a couple of weeks it started acting up and half the functions wouldn’t work. Returned that, got a refund, and bought a Standard switch from O’reilly Auto Parts. Bad luck continued and warrantied that one out for another Standard and everything worked liked it should until this week. Some of the buttons are now very flimsy, the lights on the window lock and folding mirror buttons some times stay on with the key off and the mirrors move all the way down with the key fob.

What particular replacements have you guys had good luck with? I need a 15883319 which covers adjustable pedals, folding mirrors, etc., which is the 62 pin module. I found one GM part available but it is $365. I might be able to get it a little cheaper. Don’t know why this damn thing has to be so complicated.

Are the ones you're buying programmed? I'm under the impression that they need to be programmed for the options, but I'm not sure if there's only one for your model year, and maybe they're already pre-programmed.

When I had my Tech 2 I updated (programmed) the calibration on my driver door module.

My '02 Z71 doesn't have any fancy settings like @Fless mentions; what I can say is that the non-original switches (from AMZ, Std., etc.) will leave you disappointed. I recommend original AC/D from RA or GM... else you run the risk of low-quality fakes... and frustration.

I have a new old stock switch I found, thanks to @915_Tahoe, at a dealer in MN. Got a military discount and have it now. When I do install it, I will likely need to mate it to my truck. Mine is a 2005. I have a Foxwell scanner that I will use to attempt to do that but my shop owner buddy has a Snap On unit that he says he can do and has done before.

just look for a used one on ebay, that's going to be your best bet.
repops are generally low quality garbage. such as light housings, switches, handles, window motors, etc
with few exceptions......
a window switch on a 2004 should not require any programming, if you were "upgrading" to say power fold mirrors then you may need the matching passenger switch (maybe)
my experience was plug-n-play on the gmt800's

When I found that RA did not have the switch, I looked at ebay and there was a NOS one that someone was selling and he wanted close to $500 for it. I paid a little over 1/2 that for the one I got at the dealer in Minnesota. I just looked at ebay. That NOS switch is still there. Was listed at $492.51 and he reduced to $408.78 Part #15883319

There is firmware (a calibration) in the DDM. I checked the OS and the calibration in mine with my Tech 2. It didn't need to be updated, but:

Sorry to take so long to reply… to answer some questions… the part number I referenced for the switch is supposed to be preprogrammed for my particular Yukon with power folding mirrors, adjustable pedals, heated turn signal mirrors, etc. And yes, I was disappointed with an Amazon part and even more disappointed with the $200+ Standard Automotive part. I have found one OE part but they want $350 for it. Rock Auto does not list the OE part anymore. You type the part number in to search and it returns all of the compatible aftermarket parts.

As far as programming goes, I have a Launch scan tool that can program keys, modules, ECMs and BCMs. I am guessing I will need access to GM software to get the calibration if needed? I guess if I need to get the OE part, then so be it. Forget about a junkyard near me… if you aren’t there the moment the truck comes in to the yard, the vultures will pick it apart quickly, and tear up shit in the process of picking it.

Was the OE part number 15883319?

I still have the list of dealers and warehouses that @915_Tahoe gave me for the NOS switch, part #15883319. If you want a copy, let me know and I can get a pic to you. I bet you can get it for less than $350. I asked for a military discount and let them know I was in the shops for 45 years. They did me a solid on pricing and I got 20% off.

I would be grateful for that. Thank you.

I am just seeing this thread. I have a few power window switch in my stash of parts back from when I used to do LED conversions. I believe i still have two master switches left, and one is for the adjustable pedals and power folding mirrors as it came out of a 05 Denali. I'd be happy to sell it to you if you need it. Let me know and I can go dig it out this weekend. Its in one of my many plastic storage tubs out in my storage shed.

15883319? Never did understand why adjustable pedals made a difference because the separate panel that houses those switches is above the master switch in a whole other location.

Yes its technically a seperate switch for tge adjustable pedals. But that switch plugs into the power window switch. So does the power mirrors, puddle lamps, AND the courtesy lights in the bottom corner of the door. Basically the whole door feeds off of the window switch. Thats why GM doesn't even call it a window switch, they call it a "DDM" or Driver's Door Module. The passenger door window switch is called the "PDM".

Since I have not replaced mine yet, I did not know what you just stated. Now it is clearer to me.

I will let you know once I figure this out. Gonna try some of the dealers on the list and see what happens. Thank you.
