My '07 Suburban's dash is cracked to hell and I want to do something about it. I don't seem to have the time to do an actual OEM replacement. So, I am thinking about a plastic cover or cap.
I found one on Amazon that looks good, in the ad photos. But I'd like to hear from anyone who has already done it. I am wondering whether it will look as good as advertised and whether it will be difficult to install (it apparently does not come with instructions, but does look straight forward), and whether it will last.

This is the one I am looking at: Dash Cap from Amazon

Thank you reading, and in advance for any help.

We put one of these in our 2011 yukon. Dash was completely cracked around the speaker and was a giant hole. Expensive, but worth it imo

So.. do the first 3 responses refer to the Amazon cheapo, the Dashskin, or another supplier? Believe it or not, our '13 needs a dash or replacement.

Where are you located. I can see you a new dash shell made out of fiberglass. PM me for shipping costs.

I bought the Dashskin for both a 2007 (with no center speaker) & 2011 (with holes for the center speaker) Suburban.

Comes with the tube of silicone glue needed.

Had my local mechanic install them.

Very pleased.

What I dont like about the dash skin is if your dash is cracked all you are doing is just putting a bandaid on a big gaping wound and not handling the problem. My dash had chunks broken off and had fallen down behind the radio and other parts of the dash. Not to mention the passenger airbag and two corner return vents are now recessed.

Yeah both of mine were cracked, but not falling to pieces.

Current price is ~$150.

You can't go wrong with these dashes. It's a chore to install, but once it's in, it looks so great.
