I agree that there’s probably no way to clean one out once it’s stained but if someone tries, I’d like to see the results. Mine was so bad I couldn’t see the coolant level. Here’s before and after of the new one installed.View attachment 373517View attachment 373518 It was $67 on Amazon.
I notice your A/C accumulator has that silver wrap... Where do I find it? I have looked, but no luck.

Yes, and also makes the engine compartment look nicer.
Agreed. I didn’t realize how bad that thing looked. Well worth it to me. And it’s not like I haven’t spent a bit of money making my engine compartment look nice either.

Since my Yukon is an '05, Rock Auto does not show that part... I'll try to check if your '04 Tahoe part fits mine. ( I have the dual A/C system)..... But I could do a bit of fab to fit?
My Tahoe has rear A/C also, but I would suspect that the accumulator is the same for at least 03-06 and possibly 01-06 Tahoe Yukon Suburban Escalade....as long as they all have rear A/C.

The factory original one on mine is in place as well. I'll bet your accumulator was replaced at some point in the past and they did not replace it or move it onto the new one? I will look at an 06 Yukon next time I'm at a PYP yard to see if I notice any last model GM SUV's without the insulation jacket.

You can sort of see it in this thread I have going...but it's not a close up or clear picture, since it's just background 'noise.' If you would like a better picture or from a different angle, let me know and I'll snap one.

As soon as I receive the accumulator insulation, and I will see how to make it fit ( it is just cloth)...

I figured most members around my age went through putting on a stupid tight 'disco era' "Sergio Valenti" denim pants ( You had to lay on the floor to pull them on)....
Then, we can "dress anything"..... :party36:
