Hello... GM Family... Can ANYONE PLEASE “HELP” me out? I have a 2005 GMC YUKON DENALI XL and it has a C0279 code. My BRAKES are LOCKED and can’t drive it. I have NEW BRAKES and CALIBERS. They’re NO ABS nor BRAKE light on DASH. The Service Stability light comes on display... Can someone PLEASE “HELP” me out if possible?

Did this issue ever get resolved? am having the exact same issue with a 2006 Cadillac Escalade. All brakes lock up and service stability light comes on. The brakes will free up if I let it sit for a couple of hours.

I had a mechanic look at it and they replaced rear brakes, rotors, calipers, and brakes hoses. Issues is still occuring and everyone is stumped.

Well, we don't know because the OP posted once and ghosted us. Hasn't been on since early 2021. Suggest you start a new thread about your issue.

Your mechanic is a moron. What do you think the odds are that all of your brake calipers decided to lock up or the brake hoses all collapsed at the same time on a vehicle that has been actively used instead of sitting in a field for 5 years????? Pull your ABS fuse and/or the Traction control and see which one(s) stop the locking up nonsense then troubleshoot the correct system from there.

I have an update on my 2006 Escalade with the brakes that lock up. I pulled the ABS fuse and the brakes still lock up. I have a code, C0131 "ABS/TCS System Pressure Circuit Malfunction". which continues to pop up after clearing the codes with the "service stability" message. Going to try and have the ABS controller rebuilt next. If that doesn't work will try replacing the ABS modulating valve. Replaced the yaw sensor with no luck.

Have you checked charm.li website to see diagnostics procedures for that code?

I'm still puzzled how hydraulic pressure is increased to apply brakes w/o you applying the brake pedal? I believe the ABS module only pulses the brakes, but doesn't actually apply braking (you do that when you apply the brakes.)

I'm not sure how Stabilitrac works, but I think that system does actually apply braking based on wheel slippage and other parameters. I'm only learning brake systems recently. I had honestly always been intimidated by things like bleeding and messing with brake lines.

Thank you much for the charm.li website. That's helping tremendously. From what I am understanding the vehicle is going into low torque mode and applying the brakes due to insufficient brake fluid pressure. I will continue to work the issue and I will update this thread when I find a solution.

Apart from promises to update us, none of the members who posted with the issue ever came back and filled us in.

If you have the same code as the original poster had, have you looked at the thread referenced in post #2?

I'd recommend starting your own thread, with details of your vehicle and the specific symptoms and diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) that you're getting, as well as what's been done to determine the cause.
