Recently did an oil change on my 2021 GMC Yukon dubbed "Yukon Cornelius" 5.3L. I purchased this vehicle in October of 2024 with around 63,000 miles on it. This is my 2nd time changing the oil on it during my ownership. I sent off the oil to Blackstone for an analysis, and this is the report they sent me. Very positive and very pleased. I plan to keep this vehicle for a long time and this report is very encouraging about the health of the engine. Obviously, personal data has been removed.

Fingers crossed, looks like I have one of the "good ones" with no noticeable oil usage and sold wear metal numbers.

It is a much more detailed and concise report and you can see a sample at the website. Here is a video that also helps explain the report details.

Crap, I just realized I posted this in the 2015-2020 section.

Any helpful mods/admins, please move this to the 2021+ section.

I’m about to send off a 5k sample off to BL. Also need to cut open my filter and see what it looks like inside. That being said, there’s a member here who did both of those check ups on his 6.2 and despite zero signs of any wear, it still grenaded.

I still say you get a more detailed and concise report at Speediagnostix.com.

It’s $25 more than BL. For a quick check up on engine wear, I don’t think it’s worth it imo.
Everyone has the right to pick who they use. I am not saying you are wrong. I am just saying what you get for your money. You said a 5k sample but you did not say if it was the first 5k of a new vehicle or a sample after 5k since the last oil change.

This statement confuses me: " That being said, there’s a member here who did both of those check ups on his 6.2 and despite zero signs of any wear, it still grenaded."
What does "both those check ups" mean?

Not a new vehicle. Sample after last oil change.

Both check ups - Oil sample and filter inspection.
