Just finished upgrading to z71 moog coils and Bilstein 5100 24-185783 shocks on the rear. Picked up the coils and shocks on Amazon for good deal. The coils were $59.00 for two and $10 for the rubber seats. The shocks were $66.74, free shipping on everything.

Everyone's help made the install that much easier, thank you.

I still have not done the front end. Overall I gained about 1.25" of lift on the rear end with nothing else, picture attached.

The ride is like night and day, better IMO.

Do 24-185783 5100s fit without a lift as long as you get Z71 coils for the rear? I have 182k and figure they are worn.

I read somewhere that the Yukon Denali has the same coils as the Z71. Does anyone know if that is true? The autoride Shock on the passenger side is blown and I'd prefer to switch the autoride out for 5100s.

@Kenyken The difference in shocks is almost none, stock is 15.55 compressed to 16.16 of the lift shocks while 24.33 extended to 26.14. Stock height 5100 rear is 24-187237 vs lifted shock 24-185783. So yes they could fit but not compress as far but have less travel. I wouldn't get them unless I was planning on running a spacer with them.

@ajneuman yes denalis have z71 coils but some people replace them anyhow due to mileage or sagging. It all depends on stock fender heights but you can replace with 5100s. Normal rear height should be around 38.5-39"

@01Konvict thanks for responding to both questions. Looks like I'll be getting new coils, shocks and spacers like you suggested.

No problem make sure you get lift keys to level it and front shocks. I wouldn't go over 1.5" spacers with new z71 coils, makes the front really cranked to match.

Sorry to comment on such an old thread.

I have an 06 Yukon Denali XL, and trying to get a little bit of a lift in order to fit my 32.8x11.3 tires a little better. I'm looking to do the bilsteins with Moog 81069 Springs for the rear (I believe these are equivalent to z71 springs) , I should get the 5100's 0-1" 24-187237 and not the 3" 24-185783 correct? I just learned from the thread in your sig that my denali should already have the z71 springs, unless the previous owner changed them... I plan to purchase new ones just to make sure I know what's in there and the rig has 174k now so it probably wouldn't hurt to get new ones.

What would you suggest doing for the front? Seems like theirs many options.. keep stock shocks(old or new) +extenders +crank current keys to see if that levels it enough, stock shocks +extenders +new keys, aftermarket shocks (b5100's or something)+crank old keys, aftermarket shocks+new keys, coilovers (better ride but expensive, so not sure I'd jump on this one first).. I keep hearing that cranking stock keys or aftermarket keys will result in a crummy ride either way, but I also read that what'll make it crummy is if you leave the jounce stops, which can be remedied by putting a pad on the LCA, I've seen a picture of someone do it in order to tighten any gap.
