1) I've searched. I know you all say Blackbear. I appreciate that, but live in an area where BB isn't, and I don't have the time to travel to where BB is. So while I greatly appreciate the suggestion, I don't have the time for a custom tune.
2) I'm not looking for neck-snapping power. I'm going to continue running 87 octane fuel. I'd like to disable AFM.
3) Looking for cost-effective tuner that will accomplish the above. A little more snap wouldn't be turned down, either.

This is on a 2007 GMC Yukon, 5.3L, 4wd with ~100k.

I have the superchips tuner, does 87 gas mileage, 91 performance, 87 performance, towing tune, tire calibration, AFM disable, shift pressure, etc. I'm happy with it

look for a used one that's not locked. Go online and update it through spark. If it is locked, you can unlock it for $100

they respond to emails right away as well. Very helpful. I have been a superchips user since way back when we actually had "chips"

they don't sell the 2865 new any more. You have to step up to the new 2845 style. The tune is exactly the same, it's just the hand held device that looks different

for what it's worth, my 2865 is originally from my 2004 GMC Sierra. When it was stolen, I emailed superchips. They updated "spark" (their update tool) and unlocked it, and I updated it. Plugged it into my 2011 Yukon and it works great

I have the superchips one as well. I can't say I've noticed any difference. I have it in the tow tune right now.
What's the AFM disable all about?

Tow tune? Why on earth? I do tow a heavy trailer and the car in the avitar , I just "return to stock". I definitely know the difference on the 91 or 87 tune too

AFM disable is making it full time 8 cylinders, instead of switching to 4cyl mode

I recently towed a 5000 lb trailer and it was a dog. I have the 3:43 axle and it got so hot I thought it was going to seize up. I had it in the 87 tune mode before that and didn't notice a bit of difference.

Odd

You still use the tow button?

I've always towed in stock mode, but with the tow button. Heavy UHaul light Volkswagen so 4500 max. Never had a problem. Mileage sucks but that's expected. And that's Houston to Dallas and back, 100 outside.

It does tell you not to tow in 87 mode and 91 minimum on tow mode...

For the most part I didn't use the tow button. I usually run regular, tow or no tow. Never noticed any difference switching to premium. Also, I was towing through a lot of inclines and mountain passes on my way to Sturgis from NM.

Another Vote for Superchips (I also had a Bully Dog that worked well on my Silverado)

I have the older Superchips Cortex, still gets updates but is no longer sold. It works for what I need. Has the 87, Tow, and Performance tunes, transmission options, AFM delete, speed and rev limit raise, and Fan temperature control.

I finally picked up a tuner (after just missing an opportunity to Blackbear), I finally just caved and said I just need to get something going....

Anyway I picked up Diablosport i2...shipped quick, super easy to set-up and decent performance so far..I have only added one canned tune, turned off AFM and off with Torque management, pushed shirting to 'firm'.....all noticeable....I likely should have made this move years ago.

I also have the Diablo Intune and love it. I'm using the 87 tune with AFM off and firm shifts for the TCM. Made a noticeable different with my intake. I was running the 93 tune last summer while towing my trailer and will probably go back to that this summer. Felt like the truck ran better. Been thinking about getting a custom tune from Lew.

Anyone have any issues with an aftermarket radio, or any other mods? I ordered one (on your recommendations, so thanks for that), and watched a couple YouT videos, and one dude said he had an aftermarket head unit and it caused issues (as determined right from Diablo). Anyway, just thought I would ask while I wait for UPS.
