Anyone have a cargo box on top?

Has anyone used a cargo box on top? I have regular Yukon and I do have cross bars. I need to carry a bunch of crap camping. I guess a bag might do, and would be cheaper. Recommendations? Looking for first hand knowledge / actual use please.

Anyone ever owned a Thule cargo carrier? Or Sportrack?

iv got the biggest thule carrier they make but have yet to load it up on the Tahoe yet. I think i read somewhere that the factory cross bars will hold up to 250 pounds or something like that. Maybe someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Thanks guys, trying to determine if a Thule Evolution 1800 will allow me to open the hatch (Yukon not XL) It's like 91" long (and long discontinued so no fit guide on the website)

ill get some measurements on mine tomorrow and get back to you. Im going to try and use it this coming week. Only thing is that i need to racket strap it closed bc the locks on it were trashed. New ones are about 40$ and then i need new hinges as well which are like 10$ each but all the clamps work just fine.

Got this on CL for 80 bucks. Great deal. However, I now understand why the Thule model that opens either way is such a big deal. The inner bolts that clamp it down are almost impossible to reach even with a ladder.

Actually standing in the tires is better than a ladder. But for 80 bucks and in perfect shape vs 450 ill take it. May have to come up with my own mounting system that's easier
