Another LED Tail(s) Question

Installed a set of LED tails, and the blinkers go into hyper mode. I went to V-LED's and a GM flasher unit. Does a 2009 GMC Yukon have a flasher unit? If so, where is it located? If not not, what can be done to solve the hyper mode?

10,000,000 posts on this, but the only solution appears to be adding 6-ohm resistors to the set-up. Still not clear to me exactly how, but that appears to be what's needed.

Also, it's been noted that the fast-blink issue usually only occurs when your amp meter falls below 14. (This is despite having resistors that come with the lights.)

Did this happen fast-blink issue happen to your G3 LED's? Will it happen to the G4 LED's you can get on eBay? I'm about to purchase the G4's and want to make sure that this does not happen...

It will happen on the G3 and G4. There is no traditional flasher unit. When you get your g3s or g4s, there is a black box. unplug the black boxes from the back of those taillights. Order the 6 ohm resistors from vled, cut off the light side of the said black box harnesses, and splice either end of the resistor to the two wires that used to go into that black box. It does not matter which wire goes to which side of the resistor, just tap into those wires with either end of the resistor.
The brain for the blinkers will now only see 6 ohms coming back through those wires instead of 12 ohms like the black box that you just unplugged will show the brain. Therefore, the brain will not think there is a lightbulb out and make you hyper flash.
Took no more than 10 minutes to install... no hyper flash at all since then...

Just cut, splice in a 6ohm load resistor in place of the Huge 10 ohm black box that comes with the g3/g4 and call it a day. Never had that problem come ever since.

ohhhhhh i seee.. ok thanks for the help guys.. I just ordered the G4's but I want to do the G4's/HID reverse lights/6-ohm resistor all at once to save some time. instead of taking out my tails 3 different times.. i'm on V-LED's website.. is this it? -> 6 OHM 50W 2 BULB LED LOAD EQUALIZER RESISTORS TURN SIGNAL BLINKER FIX

It's priced at 8.99 for 2 Resistors and 4 Splice Taps.. just want to make sure i'm buying the right thing...

In this forum thread below sumo posted two pic's of his G4 LED tail's opened up showing both the 6 ohm resistor and the ballast for there hid reverse lights and it looks identical to the 6 ohm resistors that are 8.99 on vled's website so i went with my gut feeling and purchased it..

wiring

Don't use those crappy taps / connectors/ etc.

use crimps with heatshrink built in.

they sell these wal-mart, ace, etc...

expose about 1/4" of wire on each wire, and crimp, then use a heat gun or lighter, to shrink it. then wrap the whole thing in electrical tape.

it may be over kill, but you'll never have to mess with it again...
