Alternative to HID's.

What bulbs do you guys recommend? Especially for fogs, I am not liking them at all because mine do not work right and they melt the housing.

I want a clear, pure white. I have tried Silverstars but they are still yellow. Is there a whiter halogen bulb out there?

Need to know for H10 size as well.

Putco Ion Spark White 5202 bulbs are super bright for the fogs, those are what I was using before I installed HID, very bright bulb...

None, I had them installed for two and a half years with no issues...

Zach post some pics if you install them. HIDs in fogs look great, but for fog use the light scatter makes it harder to see.

I wonder why you're having so much trouble with HIDs in the fogs.... I have the DDM 5202s 3000K in my fogs and they've been working perfectly for almost a year...

Which bulb size are you using? 5202?

Which HID kit are you using? DDM? HIDGate? Other?

They're DDM 35w 5000k's...but my dad installed them while I was on vacation and I don't think he did it right. He said he had to snip the factory harness and splice the fog wires into the harness.

Im having the same problems. This last set has lasted about a year but the housing is burning again. I got mine installed by a local guy and he did the exact same thing.

Yikes, don't know what to tell you guys....

I have a DDM 35W kit with the 5202 bulbs and I installed them myself. Absolutely no snipping/splicing was required whatsoever. 100% plug and play. Mine have worked like a charm from day 1, and no burning of the lenses or housing whatsoever...even with the fogs on through the hot ass summer we had...

It was a ***** to get the OEM bulbs out of the housings without damaging anything. Maybe some of the mounting tabs on yours are broken or the bulbs aren't seated correctly? That may be causing some of the melting issues.

I totally agree, I have DDM 35w 5000k 5202's and haven't had any issues with burning of the housing, and I use mine every day continuously instead of DRL's with absolutely no issues

My headlights have no issues, but the fogs were weird. You know, I never added the "harness" option when I was picking them out on the website. I did the same for my headlights but they installed just fine.

You shouldn't need a harness for the fogs. In fact, I don't have a harness installed for my low beams or my fogs. I have a harness for my low beams sitting in my garage but I've never bothered to install it because they work without it. You don't really need a harness for the fogs because you don't turn them on until the vehicle is running so you'll get enough current to get those puppies running. The low beams are trickier because they try to fire while the vehicle is cranking...
