I have a 2015 Yukon 5.3. The guidance says that for several operations, including battery or headlamp replacement, the air cleaner housing should be removed. I have no problem removing the top cover or filter. Guidance says that the air cleaner body simply pulls off, but mine has not yielded to considerable pull. I don't want to break it, so haven't tried prying. Am I missing some fastener and does anyone have any suggestions on how to remove it?

It will pull off, there are 3 rubber '****' that hold it in place. You will not break them.
