I may be able to pick up a 6.0 from an 02 Escalade for pretty cheap. My Yukon XL is an 04 5.3 Flex. Do I just swap over the sensors and flex plate and have it retuned?

Thanks

Just curious, what would be wrong with the Escalade intake and injectors?

The 6.0 intake has a few extra sensors/different connectors. Injectors are the same.
Using your intake makes it plug & play basically. No point in making it difficult...

I guess I've never paid to much attention to all the 6.0s I've worked on. I'm worried that my mom's 5.3L may have cracked heads as coolant is starting to drop again. If it does I'm just going to slam a 6.0 in it, hopefully an LQ9. It really is just as simple as dropping the engine in and getting a 6.0L program put in the PCM, right (unless more power output is wanted)? WIll the 6.0 run off a 5.3L tune for temporary purposes if necessary? Does the LQ9 need premium?

Yes, drop in your 6.0 lq4 or lq9 longblock & use the current 5.3 intake. You can use the stock 5.3 tune temporarily. The lq9 needs 91.

In the pics I've seen on 6.0's motors, I don't see knock sensors on the top, what is the work around for that?
