With finally getting our 04 Yukon XL 2500 back in town. It is at the shop to get the 6.0 motor swapped. I am thinking about having a little more performance put into it. Headers, intake, possible cam.

But I don't want to go to wild with it. It is slated to be our totter, DD. I was thinking more torque vs HP? Ideas on what to do.

Thanks

Use 243-799 heads to be safe with 87. Even with an LQ4, 706-862 heads are better suited for 91 octane, unless your tuner really likes you.
Don't know if there's a SLIGHTLY thinner GM OE head gasket you can use to add a pinch of static compression and quicker throttle response?
You already have the intake manifold you want to maintain low-RpM torque. Aftermarket intake manifolds only improve on GM OE over 4500RpM.

If you don't do your homework on long-tube headers, you'll be let down, either sooner, or later when they corrode. Coated always works better.
Maybe save your money and focus on a torque-ier GM OE cam. Don't waste your money on short-tube or medium-tube headers, they just sound different.

You said 'OUR totter', not 'YOUR', so mind that THEY'D be very happy with a 6.0L that resembles an L77, and you won't be disappointed either.
