Vehicle: 2014 Tahoe SSV, on order 2” drop springs and shock extensions for the back. Front will stay at stock height.

Currently has the stock aluminum Tahoe wheels 17”. The department that ordered this truck had some options added to it.

Possibly get a set of 18” wheels, not looking to offset them.

What is the max width tire that can go on these trucks front and rear?

I’m looking for a 285/70/17 or 18” tire. I’ve been happy with the General AT2 tire now the ATX. I do go off-road frequently but not bogging or that stuff. Mostly hunting, fishing, camping. My property North of me gets a fair amount of snow & the 1/2 mile drive to the house is also a reason for a decent tire for traction in that stuff.

Thanks

Paul

I’m bot going to be of much help with knowing what will fit vs what will not- but you might play with the tire size calculator on the Tacomaworld site. You can turn your wheels to lock on one side and measure how much space is left between the tire and whatever it’ll hit first.

I think if you go up to 18s you may have to drop the sidewall size a bit. Or maybe whatever size the Z71s used.

The tire calculator is the way to go. I have 305 but only 40 side wall you’ll want to pay more attention to the height since that determines the diameter front to back

I’ve got stock size ko2’s 265/70/17 with a 2/3 drop and they rubbed in the back going in and out of our driveway (slightly elevated from the street). It took some heating and manipulating of the liners but now it doesn’t rub at all. I couldn’t tell you how close it is but if you look at the rear fender liners you can see where there’s just a sharp angle to them at the corners and that’s what needed warming up.
