2012 Tahoe rear door speakers

2012 Tahoe LTZ with stock Bose sound and Navigation. Need a rear door speaker. I believe they are component speakers, but what are they - midrange, woofers? I've looked many different places online and can't get that type of info anywhere. Is it possible to get more info on my system like do I have a subwoofer and separate amplifier and where are these mounted? Crutchfield even pissed me off. Look for speakers for my vehicle specifically and they give me what I believe are component (single), 2-way, 3-way options. I believe I want to just replace a blown speaker pair with an upgrade if possible. I'm not thinking I'd want a 2 or 3 way since that's not what is factory, but I'm no expert. I can get direct replacements from gm parts sites if necessary, but it looks like they aren't Bose?

I doubt that your rear door speakers are component speakers (2 separate speakers in separate locations). At best, your rear door speakers are coaxial speakers (2 speakers combined into in one frame with the tweeter located within the woofer's cone area).

Bose speakers have non-standard impedances, with impedances between 1.3 and 3.2 Ohms, versus the industry standard of 4 Ohms. Pull out a rear door speaker and see what the impedance is stamped on the magnet, and that is the impedance that you need to shop to to replace that speaker.

You can purchase Bose replacement speakers on eBay. Interesting that you had a bad experience with Crutchfield, as my experiences with them have been stellar. I almost certain that they sell a brand of speaker that has impedances compatible with Bose speakers.

I have always had good luck with Crutchfield. I haven’t found a better car or marine audio site.

I wonder if the factory amp routes the rear highs to the rear quarter panel speakers..
But even if factory is a 1-way in the door, and you replace the speaker with a 2-way, the tweeter just wouldn't be in use?

Sounds reasonable. Crutchfield told me the amp sends full signal to the door speakers so it should be good anyway.

it sort of sends full range to the rear doors, but your best option if you are keeping it stock is to just buy a used one off of ebay or hit the the local yard there will be a bunch of them in either case.
i doubt there are any new oem ones out there if a dealer has one I can bet it will be some absurd price

and don't believe everything crutchfield tells you, there just looking at basic info
bose speaker ohm is not industry standard and the amp filters the output, per channel
all they see is a list of speaker sizes for xxxx vehicle sorted by location in the vehicle. (very generic data)

This forum contains many posts related to your system, the amperage, ohms, how it's wired and where everything is located.

I replaced all of my speakers with GM OE from various sources including Amazon and Ebay a couple years ago. The subwoofer is tough to replace but can be done, it's a Bose.

These are my notes:

My truck has the 9 speaker system with the dumb amplifier. Your LTZ may have the Bose Centerpoint system with the 10th speaker in the middle of the dash. It has a smart amp.

might be close enough to not make it sound any worse, it will have a smidge less volume, might not be noticeable

As @Doubeleive stated above, your rear door speaker is a full spectrum speaker (1 speaker with 1 driver), and not a coaxial speaker or a component speaker.

You can substitute a coaxial speaker of the correct diameter in your rear doors, and that 'may' improve the sound quality a tiny bit, but remember that the Bose system is a premium system and their speakers are of high quality. If your existing speaker is damaged or blown, then any replacement speaker would be an improvement.

When I was looking for replacement speakers, I could not find any that were a direct bolt in. All of them had different mounting points and or connections. So I went with stock.

Some companies have made direct replacement upgrades before but that was years ago and one run and done.

I'm not an audiophile.
