2011 Tahoe A/C issues

2011 Tahoe with 37000 miles.

This has just started happening for about a few months. I will go somewhere and shut the Tahoe off, leaving it for a short time (30 minutes or so). When I come back the interior fans are blowing oh high. Not the engine cooling fans, the A/C fans that blow out the interior vents front and rear. I've gotten in the car and waited to see if it would stop. But after 4-5 minutes I get tired of waiting and start the car.

I've got conflicting stories from dealers. One guy said it was a problem and needs to be left so they can see if the can get it to happen in their care of the car.

Another guy said it was an "AFTER BLOWER" that sometimes runs to dehumidify the interior of the car if moisture levels are too high inside...

I can't find anything online about any "AFTER BLOWER" and no one I've ever asked with similar Tahoe/sub/gmcs knows what Im talking about.

Recently, the car is hesitant to start. Low voltage on the gauge, but a battery/alt test shows them both working fine. Is this stupid fan issue draining my battery or what?!

Afterblow is a feature that can be turned on to run your blower motor for a few minutes after you shut it off (to dry off the AC condenser and lessen or eliminate the musty smell you may get the next time you turn it on after running AC then shutting it off). You can have it turned off at a dealer with a Tech II. Since it's going into winter you probably won't be using the AC much anyway.

Thanks for the info, that was spot on. I was hesitant to talk to another dealer about the afterblower since the last guy looked at me like I was crazy. I called around asking specifically for a Tech II guy who could turn off my afterblower feature. Found one at a dealer not to far away who decided not to charge me for the service since I was getting a dead battery. They even topped off my fluids.
