Engine and trans tuned. Stock VE table updated. MAF tuned, timing adjusted, fuel leaned out a little. Trans also tuned. I paid for help on this since the GMT900s are much more complex. When I learn more I'll do the tuning on my own.

The trans shifts fast and hard. There is now very little torque management on shifts. Even on dry pavement I chirp the tired when launched.

Farting around....

Sounds mean, and I'm sure it's night and day difference from the ol' five three.

The Gen3 5.3 was a slug compared to this 6.2. The lower first and extra gears really help as well.

I replaced the plugs. The passenger rear wasn't as bad as people say. Just have an assortment of extensions and go from underneath a little.

My friend says the old ones were recently put in. At least I have peace of mind!

I also installed new 118db horns. Hella Supertones.

I have a set of piaa 115db horns I'll add soon as well. DC driving necessitates this.

I did the Velcro behind locks mod. The inside is sooooo much quieter.

https://goo.gl/images/IOV79W

Please elaborate on this mod, as I am not getting the jist from the photos alone.
Is the Velcro having to do with the lock stem assembly, the lock actuator, or what?

ETA: I found the YouTube video and now understand. Seems like a good mod for rattling lock stems. I don't have that particular issue---the lock actuators themselves are noisy in my ride as they operate.
Thanks

I can't quite tell, but since the Velcro is on the back side of the lock stem assembly, I guess it must quiet that action. I may experiment this weekend since it's quick & easy to test. ;)

Sorry missed your earlier post. It stops annoying rattles when driving.

I changed the front diff, rear diff and xfer fluids. Everything looked normal.

I'm driving from VA to MT and back. Gotta make sure all is well! What's your over/under on a trouble free trip? ;-)

Uhhgggg I have list to fix before the week ends for my MT trip.

A/C is freezing over.

- It was low on coolant, no leaks detected when properly pressurized. This slowed the freezing up.
- Filter is clean and so are the coils.
- When tested they didnt see any pressure differential pointing to a clogged orifice.
- I have a new low pressure switch to install soon. I hope this helps. This is a common failure

New low pressure switch AC Delco 15-50618

Both rear door actuators have died. Got some Dorman replacements.

Cruise control is dead. Great. I really want this for a road trip. The stop lamp switch is known to go out and cause this prob.

I got a new spare. $111 mounted and balanced. Who knows what part of china this was made in. Don't care!

Chains! I got these because of freak storms. Actually more to scare the wife. I love messing with her.

Now I know you're joking. You don't need chains after driving in alaska.
We did get a ton of snow here over winter, like what it use to be back in the 90s.

I replaced the low pressure ac switch. Its hard to tell if it's helping. Ambient air was 65f, I set the ac to as cold as possible with lowest fan setting. I could just get it to start icing over. It's a stupid test and might cause any ac to freeze a bit.

Old out!

I fixed the cruise control. I had to replace the brake lamp switch. This had me worried for my big trip.

AC Fixed. You'll never guess....

It was my new HVAC controls. I'm not a pro. Supposedly new HVAC controls need a GM tech programmer to setup or it causes all sorts of issues like freezing up.

I'll deal with the old controls for a while.

Good news is that I have no leaks, new low pressure switch, new orifice and so forth.

My, my, my it's been awhile since I checked in on this thread! Best of luck on the cross country trip! I need to get a build/resto thread going on my wife's Escalade since your build threads inspire as always!
