When i bought this truck the rear door locks didnt work. i replaced the lock actuators, once i reconnected the battery and tested them out i had smoke coming from both back doors. obviously i melted both lock motors. now, after checking the wiring and voltage at the connector i am getting 12v at the gray, blue/black, and orange wires. i called a local gm specialist and was told this should not be the case. ive also noticed that none of the controls on the left side of the steering wheel work, but the right side works fine. im trying to find the bcm pinout so i can start disconnecting plugs and try to narrow down where my problem is coming from. could it be the master door lock switch? the rear doors didnt work with the switch or the remote. any input would be appreciated.

Well, now you know that Smoke is the electricians secret. Must keep it in the wires or stuff doesn't work!
You need a wiring diagram for your truck. You can begin by back tracing from the locks, unplugging as you go until you find where the power and grounds are shorted together. Disconnect upstream from there so you can use truck. Could be shorted where wires pass from door to body.I wouldn't put power to it from fear more items smoke.

You might check the wiring along the driver door. Remove the sill plate and you’ll see a thick strand of wires. That area gets beat up over time and the wires fray. The ground wires are on the B pillar just above the floor.
