My power lift-gate is no longer operational. The only way to open it is to hit the button and manually pull it open. But to do that i can only open about 3-4” and then required to pull through some resistance and then a pop that allows it to open.

I have these DTC from the lift gate module.
B153E 08
B153A 08
B396A 02
B153B 02

I cleared the codes and tried to open it with my Tech2 and get the same results. This time i got the below codes.

B1019 00
B153E 08
B153A 08

Any ideas on a fix let me know. Thanks!

153E Description The liftgate control module continuously monitors power liftgate operation and calculates its location and direction of travel using 2 Hall effect sensors that are part of the liftgate

Have you turned off the power lift gate on the center console switch (put it in manual mode). When you do that will it open and close normally (manually)?

Looking in the factory service manual, skimming over those codes.
I see that a bunch of them show up as "Short to ground"

Might not hurt to check over the wiring harness.
if you happen to have a tech2, it might be handy to go through the special functions of the lift gate and manually activate each one to possibly narrow down where the issue is.

For my liftgate, just dicking around with the tech2.
I found out where the installer pulled power for the aftermarket backup camera.
The Liftgate! :jester:
