Have you baselined the truck to see where she's at? What kind of mileage are you getting at 70 mph?
When these first came out the Avalanche guys were tweaking the computer system with HP Tuners to get AFM to turn on early and to run longer and many were getting 25 MPG at 70 or so mph.
Payload also plays a big part in efficiency, lots of useless stuff increases the load on the motor.

What have you done as far as basic maintenance? Tire pressure was mentioned, spark plugs and wires, air filter, etc.
