2007 escalade rear trunk closing issue

I changed this. And now it will close but not open. So I guess I need to have it calibrate. View attachment 398605

This is what I’m saying. I replaced the exact same gear, and had the same issue you are describing afterwards. It doesn’t make sense, but replacing the latch mechanism solved the problem for me.
