I have absolutely no idea on TP, my guess would be 35-40 since they were recently installed and tire shops always like to over inflate. I think I'll probably go for it, just hope they dont look too small

I hear ya man. I understand on the right look. I am just so happy I just replaced my noisy, hard riding, worn out AT's with some highway tires, so much quieter and smoother. Seem to have very good wet handling thought this storm we just had. I even did a tour in some of the flooded areas around me that are mud soaked. They handled it well. Next test will be the slimy boat ramp soon I hope. Waiting for things to sort of get back to normal here before I got towing my boat past everyone that is suffering near the river. Really ugly right now. Sorry I am rambling. Continue on.

Total change of plans, its getting a set of 265/70/17 load E Duratracs off my buddies Denali and he's getting a new set of OEM 20s and 33"s.

They are old and worn but they are tough, free, and should fit with minor fender adjustment.
As our local pitch man Tom Peterson used to say, free is a very good price. I always loved the free flat top haircuts he offered!. :)

Another weekend of no progress on anything Tahoe related, I did get a quick preflight inspection done to it since I'm taking it to Sanibel Island this coming weekend. So happy it uses nearly no oil any more and has no leaks again! Oh also jacked the fog lights to put on my Taco since its headlights are so bad.

Did some shenanigans on the Mountianeer project, had to weld the snap ring pliers to the snap ring to get the trans shift servo in place. Hoping to have it done and gone soon.

Did a bunch of other side jobs all weekend including brakes on a f250 that had a caliper blow out and lost all brakes.

I ******* up big time........

Been waiting to install the new cluster until the truck hit dead on 273,000 so I could honestly say the mileage is correct with the new cluster. Well, I drove to Sanibel island last weekend some 500 miles round trip and was sitting just around 271,9xx. Then I volunteered for a trip up to Mobile Alabama to buy a POS Ford 7.3 6spd work truck for my company. I have always considered a diesel truck with a manual trans to be the next evolution of my DD when I get tired of the Tahoe or outgrow its capabilities. Therefore I was excited to try the Legendary 7.3 PSD with the also legendary german ZF6 6 speed. The route showed right at 491 miles one way which I figured would give me a little room for error. I think the tire size is off more than I anticipated "(bout 2MPH at 75) and since the Ford was a POS we ended up making way more pit stops than expected and actually ditched the truck a few hours from home after the turbo ended its own life. Ended up pulling into the driveway at 273,003 ruining my chances of ever being able to resale the truck and making it nearly worthless:bawl::bawl::bawl::bawl::bawl::bawl::bawl: Should I try to reverse for 3 miles so it will roll back? ;)

Other than the Ford being a POS the Tahoe ran great on 87 and managed 18mpg at 70, only 16mpg at 90. I think I could squeeze into the 20s with taller skinnier tires aired up properly, lightweight wheels, and working cruise control.

F it. You might as well burn the thing down and sell the leftover metal as scrap, if the recyclers will even take it. The Ford too.:deal:

That's a good idea for realzzz. Tell you what, I have zero desire to own a Ford again, that thing is a POS. Not just the condition of the truck but I find the interior design to be not great and the lack of room to work on anything is pretty awful. I see why they have to lift the cab to do everything on them.

Should have the new cluster in this weekend! Might even get time to look for that trans harness again.

RE Ford
I made the switch from Ford and Dodge to GM when I got my first Square and realized that GM was a decade ahead of the other two technology wise. The wiring in the 70s fords was like the 60s wiring in a GM truck. GM had it in the bag.

I saw a neighbor with the cab off a Ford a couple weeks ago. He said he did it to work on it but I figured it was some sort of restoration. Are you saying it’s needed for regular maintenance?

I saw a neighbor with the cab off a Ford a couple weeks ago. He said he did it to work on it but I figured it was some sort of restoration. Are you saying it’s needed for regular maintenance?

I'm not expert but I know anything engine related needs the cab lifted same with turbo stuff on the 6.0s and 6.4s. IIRC my neighbor had to tilt the cab to get to the upper v band on his 6.0 down pipe just doing an exhaust. Sounds miserable to me.

Is the top of your bezel sagging? Gonna show us a test vid of them thicc needles hitting 7K RPM and 140 MPH?

Yeah its sagging like a set of 44 double long *******, never noticed it before not sure what it takes to fix it or if I care enough.

I'll try to get a video pushing to 6.5k but not 140 or 7k.

Flip it upside-down and hit the whole curved area with a heat gun with more emphasis towards the center. Blow gun from a distance to cool it and lock it into place, test and repeat as necessary. Just if it bothers you and when you have nothing better to do. lol

But it's a shame that the chrome trim at the top of the cluster is hidden. :p
