Yeah I was planning on saving a couple copies of the BB tune thst I download from the PCM, on a couple different computers. You know, just in case something happens to one. :rockit:
Plus I’ll keep the Autocal for the near future and I have copies of the tune in EFI Live format too so I can always load it from that.

When your HPT comes in it should come with a flash drive that has the programs on it, I used that for a long time as a backup for all my tunes.
Finding the correct tables to log and getting them set up seem to be something I can't wrap my mind around. When I get ready to log in a serious manor, I'll be asking some questions. Probably very simple, I'm just brain locked at that point.
Finding what to log is definitely the difficult part but guys like Goat rope break it down pretty easy, when you get ready to do stuff I can send you some scanner setups to make it a little easier. However, I suggest watching videos on how to do it from scratch so you can advance your knowledge of how the program works.

So the truck did the weird lean mode again at startup this morning, let it idle I minute or so and it cleared up. Maybe I need to look at something to do with startup fueling, also need to look at spark during the event because it feels like it's getting too much spark.

That would be great.

As previously mentioned, I've watched a bunch of his videos and he is great. I just get confused when I'm following along perfectly fine and then he jumps to a Gen 3 tune. Like, its much different. Annnd, I was trying to tune narrow band...you know, because I didn't wanna mess with wiring and wideband and putting the extra hole in my exhaust. Then, another dude on here said you take the rear o2 out and use that, even with catalytic convertor so now, I'm going to go that route...

Behind a cat? That sounds not right but then again so many people tune with a sniffer up the tailpipe so idk, I've seen so many conflicting things on that.

I understand gen 4 is totally different, you really have to start small, like super small. Most videos out there assume you know too much and use big scary words, I've had to stop one video and google wtf he meant and then restart days later lol.

I think if I were you id look into a tailpipe clamp sniffer set up over pulling an O2 sensor, that's still way too much work every time you want to log data. The easier you can make data logging the more likely you are to do it.

Thats what I keep seeing so I'm confused too. The rear o2 slot would be perfect though:( Just turn off the rears and leave it until I"m satisfied then turn it back on

I guess there would be no real downside I can see to turning the rear O2s off unless they need cat overtemp fueling. I kinda doubt they get overtemped tho.

Mine have been turned off since I installed headers. I plugged one bungholio and put the wideband in the other. Not sure if that’s kosher but it seems to work fine.

Yeah, the small bullet high- flow ones that came on my ARH headers.
Come to think of it I was running cats until I did the 4". Never had rear O2s so nvm let me STFU and stop sewing doubt in @pwtr02ss mind

There ya go flappin that thing around again Dan !!
If I spin it fast enough I might fly!
My concern was more with the wide-band reading correctly so far downstream and then through the cat. I'd love for that to be the case tho. Easy peasy
I don't think you will have any problems, I've seen so many stock exhaust vehicles get dynoed with tail pipe clamp widebands.
Don't the downstream ones just monitor the performance of the cats? Just the upstream ones are used by the ECU for tuning right?
Yes I'm fairly certin that is all, wasn't sure if they had something to do with monitoring cat temps though. There is an option in HPT to modify what happenns if the cats get hot. If I understand it correctly, it adds fuel to help cool the cats in the event of an over temp. But I have a feeling those little baby kittens you have with the ARH don't mind.

Won't pose a problem. Some tuners I have used clip the wide band in the exhaust by the bumper and tune away. BBP did the 5.3 in my 06 & 11 Tahoes that way.

I'm not a EFI tuner, but used to make a carb and distributor sing ! F.O.P.

Freaking awesome. I REALLY didn't want an additional hole in the exhaust. I know it's dumb but I'm weird about certain things.

I know this has been asked by me in the past but what wideband is recommended

I say AEM X Series or even that one that goes into the OBD2 port since you have all NNBS and I think they can all run that.

I bought the AEM Failsafe dual monitor which lets me monitor AFR and boost in one gauge. It has options to shut the engine down if certain parameters you set are exceeded like a lean condition which is pretty cool if I had actually hooked it up like that. Their stuff is top notch imo.
