They were just on those to studs? Someone's fix for a bent wheel or hub?

Yep on the studs, 2 of the 4 hubs had these custom spacers but there others did not. I suppose they were trying to make all 3 mismatched wheels and tires appear normal. I did however run into a snag I think the spindle that had no tire on it when I bought it is bent. Not sure if its fixable or not yet.

Should also having the hubs in today and get the PPV wheels on it finally.

That’s what I’m thinking, something was bent and they ‘fixeded it’ good

Yep looks like some Tom Foolery. Did get one ramp built yesterday and I might knock the other one out tonight. Then start stripping the deck to do some repairs and possibly add a small dove tail.

First things first the bump stops are now perfect. No yoke problem and it rides as good as it did.

Got the rack and appliques on! Looks good but still unsure about the chrome, it needs a bath badly. Had a heck of a time trying to get the appliques on all the way. Ended up lubing the 3 clips that go under the window and just kinda bopped them in gently with my hand over a microfiber towel.

Also confirmed the trailer has a spindle that's as crooked as the Clinton's

I'm thinking the rack ties in nicely with the bumpers, wheels and grille. I'd leave it unless I was gonna black out everything.

That trailer just has a little toe adjusted in to help with high-speed stability and steering response.

Thank you. Its due for its quarterly wash and wax this weekend so I'll see how it like it when everything is clean. Might even pick up some chrome polish and attempt to clean up the stain on the back bumper from the exhaust.

I suppose I could tow the other spindles on the trailer and then it could crab walk.

Slowly chipping away at the crust caboose. Got the new axle in today and finally got it on it's own 4 wheels again. Decided before I spend a bunch of time in fab work repairing the under structure, building fenders and finishing the ramps I ought to go pull the thing around to see if it even pulls good.

I was impressed. It pulled straight and true no crab walk. Didn't squat the rear much even though it could use a hitch riser, and it felt great at 75mph. Another week or 2 of work and it should be ready for a load!

Yeah after I realized how bent the axle was and how bad the rear of the trailer deck is I started getting worried. But my neighbor rode behind me on his golf cart and said it looked near perfect. I even took it down a section of wash board to see how it does and it was really smooth.

Still have to cut the rest of the rear deck off, remove the old slide in ramp rails, add supports so the sheet metal doesn't sag and reinforce the end rail so it will hold the ramps. Shouldn't be too difficult just time consuming.

Oh and wire lights which I think I'm going to go a minimalist approach with those.

Rack and appliqués look good . When I put on my appliqués I sprayed wd-40 and it helped a lot. I say keep the rack chrome unless you colormatched all the chrome on the whole truck.

Thank you! Yes another win for the Chromies :bleh:

Been looking at exhaust tips forever and haven't come across anything that looks good and is under $50-$100. I do however like the look of the OEM Ford super duty diesel tips. Not sure why i like them but I think they are 3" and would look kinda cool powered black or diamond dust like the rear end.

These are the ones I'm talking about.

Also some more progress on the Crust Caboose. Got the rest of the yuck cut out and laid in some 3/16 2x3 angle to rebuild the back structure I cut out onto. Slow progress but I'm no fabricator by any means and have enjoyed pretending to be. :insane:

The PPV wheels I made earlier this year. It needed wheel bearings so I just went ahead and converted it to 6 lug so I can swap setups around as I please. Would be cool to find a set of LTZ 20"s like on the tahoe but they are really too wide.

Another 3k, another oil change. Also swapped my silverado ECU out and the original Tahoe one back in after the almost bricked accident. Even put in a budget catch can finally and some cool incognito decals a buddy whipped up for me.

The catch can bracket is temporary to see if I like it there. If I do I'll clean it up and make it look good.

Where do you have the catch can hoses going to?

Galante is correct they run directly to the alternator to keep the alts in check. :joke:

The alt-nator. Its catchin Them extera alts.....

They actually run behind the alternator, under the throttle body and one goes to the passenger valve cover the other is to the intake tube. Besides the loops by the can they are pretty well hidden and I will still likely cut them shorter so they don't stick out so much.

There should be nothing in that circuit to filter out. The tube on the passenger side valve cover is a fresh air intake that draws it from the engine air intake tube. The circuit that has oily air in it is the port on the rear of the driver's side valve cover. There's a hose that runs from there to the top middle of the intake manifold. This air flows opposite of the one on the passenger side- the air flows OUT of the engine and into the intake manifold. You want to run a hose from the port on the valve cover to the inlet of the catch can, then from the outlet of the catch can to the port on the intake manifold. BE CAREFUL with the fitting on the intake manifold! It's plastic and will break very easily if you bend or twist it too much. I use a razor knife to slice the plastic hose on it lengthwise and peel it off. Then brace the fitting with my hand while I push on the rubber hose onto it, using a little lube to help it slide.
