Trucool 40k came in last week just got it installed earlier today, we had insane heat last weekend for Oregon, it broke records and I wanted to die it was so hot. you know the usuals hahaha

Anyways I drove when it was 115 outside. Trans got up to 210 and coolant wouldn’t go below 215. I didn’t get a pic because I was in full must get home panic mode at that moment lol

But I was able to paint the trucool once it came in and found the two 730-4953 adapter fittings so I can just use the stock lines with a 3/8 compression fitting.

I used glens auto performance bracket kit to mount it. Super easy to do and came with everything needed

The brackets came powdercoated silver so I really don’t want to spray paint them but we will see if it starts to annoy me seeing that silver through the grille or not

Moved the ambient temp sensor to a spot right on the lower part of the core support that already had a hole, seems to be working just fine so far. Only think I don’t like is the hd grille had a lower support that clipped into the bar under the factory cooler. The new bracket does not allow that mount to be used but I doubt it’s going to be an issue.
I gave the grille the old ug and pull and made sure to say, “that ain’t goin anywhere” so same thing with strapping a load down on a trailer. It’ll be fine hahahaha.

I know it’s dirty and covered in bugs she needs a bath bad.

Damn, those look good!
Thank you! I’m so happy lol I love them
Def do, plus they're different. Which makes them even better.
I agree. As far as I know I’m one of the few Chevy suvs running these so far. Next time I do new wheels gonna have to order some custom billets cause I do not want to go away from this width and offset it’s perfect

How did you remove the side moldings ? The ones on my Yukon will not just pull off they break into small pieces and the cement/glue from 20 years of being on the truck takes hours to remove.

The posts on this I've seen indicate heating them up, and then using fishing line pulled between them and the body. If you search the forums, there's even advice on how to clean up the adhesive residue. I'm mobile at the moment, or I'd provide you some examples.

8-7-21 I dug this out of the garage to get it over to the shop. I was rewiring my dads 69 pickup and he Yanked all the factory wiring out before i got to it after i told him not to. obviously the trucks arent that complicated but i still wanted it to be factory and everything so i brought my truck over to be able to look at it when i needed and copy the factory routing.
IMG_6777[1].JPG

Yes im ashamed of myself and how neglected my truck was no need to remind me hahahaha i did clean it at least.
