I put a belltech 2/3 drop on my 2001 tahoe, and now it rides like crap.
A list of what i put on is:
torsion bars in the front
nitro drop shocks all 4
rear springs
My tahoe is bouncy and bottoms out on every big bump, what do i need to do to fix this problem?

Did u cut the rear bumpstops in half and adjust or replace the autoride rods? If it has autoride that is!

1) did you get shock extenders?
2) on the nitro shocks what is the part number they sold you>?
3) in rear you will need to cut the bumpstops down?

You are bottoming out because your front bumpstops are too short.

Get the GM Z71 front bumpstops, i forget the part number but it's on this board.

They are installed very easily, jack the truck up, remove wheel, pry existing ones loose with two large flathead screwdrivers....install is the reverse

Use jackstands for safety!

I am also a 2001 with the Beltech 2/3 and the same shocks. I have the same Prob that you do. I thought it was the weight. I was thinking of Putting Air Bags on the rear and Really good shocks on the front.

PLZ let me know what you find out.

its bouncy because your not getting travel also the nitro 2 shocks i dont like the ride to much with the 3 inch drop spring. Street performance belltechs ride better

The problem you guys are having is due to the rear Belltech Nitro Drop shocks. They are known to SUCK!!!
Pull those off and get some Bilstein HD or Doestsch Nitro Slammer shocks that are stiff enough to support the SUV.
Street Performance Belltech shocks are alright too.

I would do the free travel mod first. I bet its doing a see-saw when you drive, meaning when you hit long/deep bumps at highway speeds, the front bobs up and down because the rear has no travel and catches on the rear bumpstops.

You all should still put in the z71 bumpstops up front.

And don't forget to put some aftermarket bumpstop on the axle or frame when you cut off the rear bumpstop bracket.

My tires are too tall for a free travel mod, but I have Bilstein 5125s and barely bottom out.
