I've also rented K2XX Tahoes several times, and although no speed demons, they perform exactly as one would expect a full size SUV to.

All three of the LWB K2XXs I rented were exactly the same, underpowered and sloppy in every way possible, and I know underpowered and sloppy. :)

I think both the weight and body size cross over some threshold that makes them suffer so much more than the SWB. It was actually disconcerting to the point of feeling dangerous a couple of times ... when you hit the gas hard at say 50/60mph, you don't expect a vehicle to stay in place reaching for gears.

Interesting. Did the LWBs have the 8-speed tranny? Giggity.

Buy a brand new one. Since gm buys them back every year you will be like serge and always have a new car.

Any new news?
Nothing official yet but talked to a guy who works at the shop where the work is getting done and he says he doesn't see any structural or frame damage so things are looking up. Won't know 100% til the insurance give the go ahead to do the work

we'll see. I'm not leaning one way or another til I get the official word of what way they go. I may still be in the high mileage club if I get lucky and it gets fixed.
Hmmmmmm... "high mileage club", "get lucky" ,and "get fixed" all in the same sentence. ...
Did the topic change????

Sorry to hear about the burb, Cob. Glad everyone is ok. The SWB yukon rental I had was nice but the trans felt weird and the cylinder deactivation is awful on them, way worse than my avalanche was when it still had it. That being said, they do feel much nicer than the NNBS, interior wise.

Hope it works out exactly how you want it to
