07 yukon denali xl bose system upgrade?

I am looking to upgrade the factory bose system. It sounds good but it could be louder and the bass is definitely struggling. I do not know if the factory bose speakers can handle replacing the factory amp with a more powerful version. Also I seen that jl audio has a subwoofer upgrade for the unit that is mounted in the center console and I think I will either get that unit or try to remove the old one and get a custom enclosure built for that space. I have found the amps have dsp built into them. How many channels does the factory system use? For thoes of you that upgraded the console subwoofer how did you add an amp to the factory system? I would love to find rear cargo area panels from a yard to modify and build custom sub enclosures into. I would love to hear what other yukon owners have done. Thanks, chuck
