Factory Radio to DSP and aftermarket amp - Load resistor needed?

Hey Guys,
I have a 2019 Tahoe LS model with no factory amp. I'm upgrading the speakers and adding a subwoofer, DSP and amp. I'm using an LLJ loopback harness to send the signal back through the factory wires.

I recently reached out to the DSP manufacturer and they mentioned that some factory radios wont output unless there's a certain "load" on the system. They then recommended putting in a load resistor to trick the radio into thinking there's a load so it outputs an audio signal. Have any of yall ran into this when upgrading your audio system? I have the 8 inch screen if that helps. Thanks!

I'm not aware of that situation, but it doesn't sound far-fetched at all. I'd try it first without any ancillary resistors and see if it works. My guess is that you will be OK.

Worst case, you could get some high amperage 4 Ohm resistors and install them across the speaker terminals of the head unit to fool it into thinking that there are speakers there.
