Well i thought i'd get started on a build thread. I don't have to much done just yet since i just bought the UKon SLT last month. She came with 125k on the odometer.

So far i did the USA Spec iPod Interface thru the XM channel to run my iPod Classic. Easiest install i've done to upgrade a factory radio. Plugs right into the XM module cable right behind the glove box.

I also received my Denali BFC Retro HID headlights today and plan on trying to install them on Thursday if the weather is nice enough.

Future plans include G3 or G4 LED taillights, 24" wheels, lowering, exhaust and Apple TV install. I'm pretty happy with the way she sits stock but i gotta make her my own, plus i got another car that's my little toy and fun car on the weekends.

Works great! You can control the music from your iPod or iPhone on the factory deck under XM or through your steering wheel controls.

My Yukon SLT has factory NAV and XM. Installation took under 10 minutes. Please note, you do not need to remove the radio for this vehicle (and probably others) when you have XM. It plugs into the XM module which
is behind the glove box. The Crutchfield supplied instructions do not tell you this. The Crutchfield instruction tell you to take the whole radio out to access the plug on the back of the radio. This is 100 times easier though. Open the glove box and feel up top until you come across a plastic tab which holds the
box from opening too far. Push up on that tab and the glove box drops right down. The XM module is right there. Just unplug the the black plug and attach it to the adapter provided by USASPEC. I wrapped the extra cables together and stuck the module back and up so it would be out of the way of the glove box closing. Easiest installation I have ever done.

So i'm kinda pissed. My "M" on my front grille emblem fell off somewhere. So now i'm in the market for either a new grille or just for a new front emblem.

When you do that iPod mod, do you lose the xm function? Or is there just a new channel for the iPod?

Hmm, I must have something different, as I still have xm too. Maybe the cord isn't hooked up anymore?

Well idk, if I used the crutchfield install instructions then I might've been able to keep XM. But I don't use XM anyways. The USASPEC iPod adapter came with other cords to plug it up a different way as well. The other plugs connect in between the XM module and head unit. Maybe if u connect that way then XM would be retained. But I'm really happy with my results I have.

Sorry no pics of the installation process.

I did order a Chrome GMC emblem since my "M" fell off my factory grille. But I will probably be getting the Denali grille or a mesh one in the future. Oh and I found out the my wife ordered my taillights. But I believe she got me the wrong ones. I looked at the invoice and she got me so Spyder LED tails.
