So after my Tahoe has been sitting for 5 days I noticed that the interior was a little wet (dashboard, door panels, seats, etc.), as a result of the moisture the headliner is starting to come down. It has been raining on 2 of these 5 days, but just a little bit, temps were between 40-50 fahrenheit.
I wasn‘t driving the truck in the rain and also couldn‘t find any especially wet spots on the carpet or headliner, it is all equally moist/wet.
After driving the truck yesterday and having the heater on 72 fahrenheit I noticed the headliner is kinda getting back to normal by itself, it wasn‘t hanging as bad as when I first noticed it in the morning.
The truck has now been sitting since yesterday, today it rained and I just went and check on it and the interior was moist/wet again, especially the door panels, they felt more wet than the rest of the interior.

What could be the cause of this ?

PS: my Tahoe has no sunroof.

Just one theory...
If you have a sunroof, you might have blocked drains.
Possible for water to come in from the sunroof, run between the roof and headliner and across either side, which is right above your door panels.

Could be the door seals, as others also have suggested as a possibility to be checked out.

That doesnt make sense the dash the door panels the seats the headliner are all soaked with water.Have you taken it thru a high pressure car wash and watch were your getting squirted in the face from.Seems like a big leak.Sounds like a major mold problem might have to take the headliner down to start if its not obvious were its coming in at top of windsheild? .Go thru the car wash.

Is there any smell associated with it? As in something that could seep in through the HVAC system? How are the rear cabin vents? Def a weird issue that’s for sure.

Thanks for all the answers so far!

- the weather strips around the doors look ok
- I don‘t have a GPS antenna, so this won‘t be leaking
- interior is not soaked in water, it‘s „just moist“
- I park on the street, sometimes under trees, so I do have some leaves falling on my car, especially in the last weeks as they were very windy and the leaves came down.
-weatherstrip above the windshield looks ok but not in best condition, I figure I go ahead and put some fluid silicone in there ?

Also: where are all the water drains located ?

And again thanks for ya‘ll helping

On my '02 Tahoe, I developed very wet driver side floor carpet after heavy rains. Went through all the investigating. Found the cause to be a rust hole under the front roof rack mount.
