Had to put a belt on my escalade yesterday. Fired the truck up after work and belt was chirping. Drove the 2.5 miles home and it got worse and worse. Turns out my gates belt with only 4k miles decided to delamiante at the seam.

Went to oreillys and all they had in stock was the AC delco HD belt, which is made by gates. Lmfao

Put that on and its quiet so far.

Removed my old radiator.
IMG_1043.jpeg

Looks like it was made 7/13/04. It didn't look terrible, but was definitely leaking..
IMG_1044.jpeg

I have a new spectra radiator (cheap! with coolers) and dorman heater hoses and T's and delco radiator hoses to install..
But noticed the old radiator mount felt gummy.. Wondering if I should order new ones..

White stuff feels like wax.. Also found a 15mm matco socket sitting on the radiator mount. (too bad I don't have a splined ratchet to use it with, might be a thru-hole type ratchet)
This photo shows where it was located..next to the gummy radiator mount location.

Found my leftover mounts from my 2012 Tahoe, hopefully they are the same mount, and these aren't gummy wax!
The new radiator probably comes with them, which is why I have these leftover from that radiator install..

Had the day off today so hit the salvage yard for some odds and ends. Got 2 sets of 99ish wiper arms. I dont know the exact years. But the older trucks have wiper arms with a service position. My 05 and 06 do not have thay. So grabbed some arms to refinish and swap in.

Also got a complete spare set of bed covers for my ext a few weeks ago I have been slowly working on. Painted them today and been cleaning the seals so I can glue them back on. My panels are super faded and are starting to leak.

Did a quick test fit. I converted the front panel to the gen2 style with only 2 latches so I wanted to make sure everything lined up.

All the seals were cleaned and glued back in. Ill do a water test on it tomorrow.

Here is a comparison of my panels to the ones I cleaned and painted. The faded grey on a black truck bothered my OCD.

These things go together so easily, makes mixing and matching parts a breeze. I originally had the center jump seat, and swapped a center console into mine. Do much better.
I'm missing that textured rubber insert for the lid and the 12v outlet covers

I have the lid / rubber insert, that is also a fast charger as you lay your phone on it. ( it has an ‘on-off’ button, and it fits like an OEM pad. Made by Boost Auto……. Well made…. includes an EASY power / plug-into - harness adapter ( access from behind your rear control console panel ).

Got the CHMSL surround/applique painted up and back on the old girl. It definitely isnt flawless, but its all one piece and shiny black as opposed to 5 pieces and nearly no paint left on it. Im happy with it. Can finally get back to other projects...

Pulled fuel rail and replaced all the fuel injectors. Everything went back together and no leaks. I have been getting an annoying generic misfire code (randomly--never gave a specific cyl) for a while. My old 04 Yukon sat at edge of old owners woods for 2 years before I purchased it. Of course brake lines and fuel lines rusted...replaced both from front to back and the fuel filter. More projects to come. Motor work, rust repair (rockers), and drivers seat heater fix...not in a rush for the seat heater since it's 80 degrees right now.

Did it work? I'd love to have arms that stayed up.

Havent had a chance to get them painted yet. Bed covers were higher on the priority list

I had the rooftop rack on my '95 2-door powder-coated.

At the same time, I bought new wiper arms for it. I was gonna powder-coat those too, and install them. What I'd forgotten is that the arms have rubber and plastic parts, so I ended up with nice NOS spares that went with the truck when I swapped it for this Escalade.

It works. See link below. I put the arms from an earlier Suburban on mine. Pick n Pull FTW.
