What’s the RPO code for the heated mirrors. The build sheet on my police Tahoe says I have it but after last nights hard freeze, they didn’t defrost with rear defroster on. Unless there’s yet another switch I have to plug in from another connector in the dash.

did the rear defrost work?, if it did then you can pull a mirror glass off and use a meter to test the connectors on the glass. when you press the rear defrost you should get about 5v at the connectors, if you get 5v and the glass does not defrost then the mirror glass is bad, it would be unusual to have 2 bad ones at the same time but it's possible.

also because those connectors are somewhat exposed to the weather if you get 5v then you could try cleaning the connectors and re-attach and see if it decides to work again the next morning.

DL3 is the RPO code for: MIRROR O/S LH & RH, REMOTE CONTROL, ELECTRIC, HEATED POWER FOLDING, TURN SIG IND, LT SENSITIVE, COLOR ELEC HEATED O/S MIR(DL3)

At least that's for mine. Might be the same for the Denali guys and those with Side Blind Zone Alert too. Same RPO, different PN# for the mirrors.

The rear defroster does work, I assumed that depressing the button for the rear defroster did the mirrors as well. According to y’all it is. Neither side defroster this morning. Also I’m assuming these are the heated mirrors. After all it was a police truck.

I’ll mess with the wiring behind the mirrors next weekend.

What’s the best way to pop them out??? My friggin luck I’ll break it and have to buy the whole damn thing..

After I swear I had the correct RPO code I checked again. Fuggg no DL3, now to figure out how to get a set that will defrost. DAMMIT

Not sure on your year some just pop off and some have clips and have to be lifted up from the bottom and then out, usually you can push the mirror glass in and then look behind it from the outer edge with a flashlight to see how it attaches. youtube will have some how to videos may have to poke around a bit to find the right one.
another method is to look for mirror glass on ebay for your year and then look at the pictures of the back of the glass to get a better idea of how it attaches

The Gruven pdf for mirror disassembly is a great read, even if you are not replacing broken motors or gears. I don't remember how to remove the glass, but I did do what it said in the pdf.

Ok, got my vin decoded today. I have DL8 mirrors or it’s supposed to.

heated, duel pane wide load, 17”

Now the fun starts, will look into how to pop off the mirror and start testing.

Or at some point the good mirrors were taken/broken off and these were put on.

I’ll take a pic tomorrow after PT & a hopeful thumbs up to return to work.
