My 2000 Yukillac (seen here http://www.tahoeyukonforum.com/threads/yukon-escalade-converion.15934/ ) is getting some serious rust in the wheel well area. I've looked at a couple junk yards locally and while they do have a couple decent Tahoes, they've been reluctant to cut out the area I need. I guess it's more profitable to just unbolt stuff and sell it than to actually have to cut areas off. Understandable for sure, but I need the area in the photo. My question is: Does anyone know if this patch is available as new metal in the aftermarket yet?? (or, does someone have a rust free piece I could buy?)

Sand primer posting and be done with it if the rust is just surface rust and hasn't eaten through

It's rotting from the tire side in. I could probably put a screwdriver thru it in several places there. my buddy that did the conversion work said the whole area needs to be replaced.

Damn dude, time to cut and weeks on new ones from a donor vehicle as long as it isn't aluminum

I find no one oil sprays either. I hate working on vehicles with it but it sure does work, if done and prepped properly. Do you use oil spray?

Some poor sap wrecked a really sweet Denali. I got a mint door off of it from the yard on Gratiot and 25 Mile. I'd like to get the section I need off of it but they wanted $350-$400 for labor to cut it out. Wanted to sell me the whole quarter panel with the window. I don't need all that crap. Jeez, I'd do it myself in an hour with a cut off wheel. I figured these trucks are popular enough someone might be making patch pieces by now. Maybe not.

I have a place where you can get a whole quater panel for 250 and you can cut it yourself once you purchase it. I use acf-50 for oiling anything that can trap water/moisture. I also use sp-400 mil spec corrosion inhibitor on the undercarrage

I have used fluid film for the past 5years. It seems to hold up good. Have only had to touch up small areas and it dosent dry like most oils do. The best is ,it's not petrolium based so it won't eat and swell rubbers.
