I was thinking of placing two drawer sliders on the side wall behind the double din opening. Then use a 12 volt Miniature linear actuator to push out the nexus.
If you have the double din frame bezel, you can see how your tab fits perfect in it. So cut off the side pieces where you would normally screw it to the side opening and find a way to attach the bezel to your sliders. Then install a switch to activate the actuator.

If you get the aftermarket bezel frame in your hands, you'll come up with a simple solution to make it fit. Like I said, the tab will fit right in.

I really want to keep it very simple looking, and most of all I don't want to destroy the factory bezel..I like the idea of using a "float mount" and using a magnet to hold it in...kinda like this, except I'd like to mount the pan from behind the bezel

lol it just hit me... After realizing I only paid like 150 for this thing, screw making it removable, I'm just gonna make it permanent and if I want another to play around with I'll just buy another one eventually

, That's exactly why I'm mounting mine permanently. Bought the wife one for Christmas, but she hasn't even used it yet.

Did you come up with a solution on how to insert the line out and charging wires on the side while making it fit correctly. So now that your keeping it there, just get the bezel and fix your tablet to it. Whats good is holes are all there to screw it in place.

Just connect to your home router from the driveway to add apps and music through wifi.

Check out ES File Explorer for transferring files and music, it's the best one.

Here is how well the Nexus 7 fits. I think your Sammy has the same dimensions. When I'll put the dash trim back on it'll look stock

that looks slick as hell, I'm gonna grab a bezel tomorrow or Friday so I'll have that to play around with I might end up doing it like you did...I'm still going to pop off my bezel and see how close the galaxy case is to being flush with the trim, if I didn't have this damn paper to write tonight I would be doing that but instead im on tyf and not doing it lol :devilfinger:

Wow that's pretty sweet... Especially for only 150 bucks! ....For now for my galaxy tab I gotta 32gb micro sd so that will hold all my music just fine, but if I find one of those wifi drives for a steal price I might grab one I kinda like that concept, 500 gb is A LOT of space to be able to access in the car...I'm looking into Samsung kies right now, from what I understand that's how I can wirelessly sync my tab in the car when I pull my car in the garage via the wifi network at my house

Can't wait to see how it all turns out.

I'm waiting for this to arrive.:happy107: But I didn't pay that insane price. I'm amazed how the new amps can produce so much power in such a small unit. It measures 10'' x 8''.

lucky ass lol I would love to have one of those things....Heres what I "got done" tonight lol.. I mounted up my galaxy tab just to see where we are in terms of things lining up and I'm gonna grab a double din bezel from one of the car audio shops nearby me tomorrow (hopefully they'll have one) and then do exactly like you did and mount it in there...I got kinda distracted tonight because my friend brought his 01 grand Cherokee and I had to run a completely new wiring kit for him lol but here some pics just for the hell of it, I'm gonna be freakin BUSY this week with final exams and shit so I'm gonna do one thing at a time as far as wiring up everything...My finish date is targeted for next Sunday.

Lookin good. Ya, Im sure you'll be pleased how it's gonna look with the bezel.

If your looking for a good gps program for android when your away from android, check out CoPilot Live. It's worth the money and looks good, no need for 3g.

Looks good. Aren't you glad you went that rout?
I had to trim just a bit in behind to make the tab fit.
