Some people might look at a garage full of half assembled cars as a nuisance but I look at it as eye candy.. Nothing like having a car sit in unrecognizeable form and people driving by and giving it the dirty look only to drive it off the garage in due time and drive it out completed and throwing it back in peoples faces.. I can definitely relate to that view. Jeff. Great work man!! Great progress and can't wait to see more....
Man, I love it. The best part is firing it up for the first time, opening the garage door, and watching your neighbor's expression as you slowly roll it out of the garage with a big cam rumbling and echoing down the street, looking at the car like "no way that's the same car that's been in there for two years":)

With all these projects and disposable income I can't help but ask.............
..............Are you Hiring!!!!! :hail:
I'm just glad I was able to replace the engine as soon as I did. But that put my new trans on hold for another month though. I'm just trying to get my toys finished before my two little girls get old enough to ask me for money to go shopping. Then I'm really going to be broke!

I finished getting her all hooked up lastnight. Started on the first try. Idle was a little rough as expected, but after a couple minutes the pcm relearned to idle with the new cam and added displacement. Overall, everything went pretty smooth (the cam and spring swap was cake. Makes it a lot easier when the engine's out of the vehicle:cheers:).
I pulled it out of the garage to let it idle on driveway for a few minutes while I made sure everything was golden. After it warmed up, the idle came down, and although the lope is tame, you can tell it's not a stock cam. I reved it up a few times to about 3K and let it idle a few more minutes to warm up the new springs then decided to take it down the street for it's first test drive. Put it drive...nothing. Put it in reverse....nothing. I double checked the trans fluid and connectors to the shift position module and main trans harness. Couldn't find anything wrong. It engaged fine when I put it in drive and pulled it out of the garage earlier. So we pushed it back into the garage and called it quits for the night. We were too wore out to go any further so I'll just have to look at it later this week.
But the engine is good to go. Aside from the exhaust, the engine is tons quieter than my old 5.3. If you stand at the front and tune out the exhaust noise, you can't really hear anything else except the slightest noise from the belt and pulleys spinning. No valvetrain noise, piston slap, etc. We were surprised at how quiet the actual motor was.
I'll get back once I find out what the deal is with the trans. Here are some more pics as we finished her up. I'm thinking about 'glassing a couple pieces to cover up all the hoses and wires so that only the s/c shows, maybe even airbrush "Boosted 6.0" or something like that on the covers.

Sucks about the tranny... hopefully it's something simple. Sounds like you are going to be ready just in time for the 09/04 DFW Blackbear meet :rocking:

She's a beauty!! 4 thumbs up (2 from me and 2 from my 1.5 year old son).

Let me ask a simple question, you left the stock PCM in with the 6.0 and it did just fine or you had Justin send you a semi-tuned PCM to start up on?

My pcm has already been tuned by Justin for the sc a while back. The computer will learn to idle and run with the cam and larger displacement, but it won't perform at it's best until Justin gets into it again.

vury nicee! i want some sound clips!!!
Once I get the exhaust finished, I plan to make a couple vids and sound clips. I need a set new tires anyway, so there just might be a smokey burnout vid soon:D

Hell yea man. Last time I gave someone a ride, we were sideways facing the ditch and drifting for about 60-80ft as we left the lot getting onto the frontage road to Mopac:)

The throttle transitions may likely be lean, and the ignition timing tables definitely need to be adjusted. Be cautious until you get it retuned...

Oh yea, definitely not going to get on it until Justin retunes it. I know it's not optimal right now so I'll be keeping an eye on the afr to make sure it doesn't lean out.
BTW, do you know roughly what Justin is putting down power wise in the SSS? I'm thinking I should be in the same area as he is. He's still running the LS6 cam right?

His truck hasn't been on the dyno with the current mods, but if you are running 2.9" pulley you should be making around the same power he is.
