That's interesting for sure. Trying to figure out how it works. From the pics it looks like it just pivots in the center (obviously) but what controls the pivoting? Just the weight shifting? Seems like that would be very dependent on how level everything was installed and also how level the road is, no???

from my searching around they have a 6 axis gyro that you mount and it reads the g's and moves the inside light into the corner but leaves the outside light facing the same location. I don't know if there's any adjustments to it.

there's another style that just has a extra led set that turns on while turning. more like the old caddies had ditch lights or whatever it was called when you turned on the turn signal., but these are built in and use the gyro to turn off and on. I think the moving ones would be better for a car, but the others might be better for a motorcycle

Wow, cool but seems like a lot to possibly go wrong, especially with aftermarket (Chinesium) retrofit parts.

They were called cornering lights and I liked them so much I made my own and installed them on the Burb.

Here is a quick video in case you haven't seen them...

This is probably one of my favorite/most convenient/functional mods. Out where I live it is nice to be able to see when turning down dark country roads or driveways.

I don't really worry about failure since they default to stright and only use one side anyways. I've had really good luck with China made stuff, especially the better known higher end brands, not just the cheapest ebay stuff. these days I can't find oem parts that aren't junk lol. but yeah, everything fails.

I like your side lights. do you have a picture or thread about them? Definitely like the turn signals lights, but the tight mountain roads I like at night, I wouldn't be using turn signals for. so that's where the gyro sensing the car turning would be nice. of course that's if the tuning if it is right. I guess I could just put a diode inline and have them all on when hitting hight beam.

i could see having both setups, yours and those being worth while together.

I would also like the function of lights moving up and down with the hills even around here. with a nice clean cut off, it's always annoying up hill and feel like I'm blinding people when cresting over the top. the never German cars do that as well.

that is probably asking for to much haha

I think something like yours is what this type is trying to do just all built into one unit. yours is probably better being a stand alone setup thou.

Thanks. I didn't really do a write up, just posted about them in my build thread...

The small light mounted down by the fog light is the cornering light.

That wasn't my first choice of location but it works well and doesn't interfere with the output of the fog lights.

I really wanted to have them recessed into the side of the bumper but didn't have a clean way to make that happen so I compromised.

I thought I had better pics of the install but I guess not as these are all I could find... lol

IIRC someone here had black 20" Ram 5 spokes on their Tahoe but I can't find the post. Maybe it was a 2015+? If you see this please direct me to a photo. :Big Laugh:

that's a lot of light in the vidoe for such a small part. can't tell much in the pic, but yeah. I wouldn't might that at all. mines black anyways, little black paint and it's done haha.

Just grab a set of diode dynamics SS3 max in true fog and you won't need headlights that turn. Mine give me probably a 14 foot field of view on each side of the road

Lucky for you they come black, I had to wrap them in pearl white to make them blend in better... lol

I like those but they weren't out when I made my bi-led projectors into fodlogjts and mounted them in the holes. so they wouldn't fit right now anyways since I had to hack the inner part of the bumper cover up some.

plus I want my cake and eat it too haha. I want to swap in the head light housings on this yukon and my other cars they don't make those fog lights for.

I picked up my rebuilt transfer case today, and I am in the process of making arrangements for installation. I will also have both drive shafts re-balanced, while they are disconnected, along with new universal joints for the front drive shaft (the rear drive shaft universal joints were replaced 4 years ago).

As if I'm not spending enough on my own..... LOL

When this is completed, I will have replaced/rebuilt/upgraded everything on my suspension and on my drivetrain.

Also swapped it to the front left it's missing a couple plastic legs I think it's less likely to get g-forced off there maybe...

I think that was a good move, because I think people tend to turn hard or fast to the left more than to the right [except Brits].
