Saw this at the pump today.
Might just as well get race fuel octane if paying $9.99 a gallon.

Non Ethanol Fuel is no longer available in Canada. They quietly phased it out well ahead of their 2030 goal. I thought I was filling up my truck and motorcycle with the good stuff Chevron 94. But after research, found out they slipped in the corn gas. Prices are outrageous here as well.

We can still get non ethanol in the states at specialty gas stations. Yard equipment, ski boats and classic cars seem to do much better with the ethanol free, less frequent use. We’ve done a great job of reducing smog from the old days but they keep trying to squeeze more out. We’ve defiantly crossed the lines of diminishing returns. Same thing with Dfm on gassers and egr, def and dpf on diesels. Diminishing returns. Diminishing returns equals wasted money and unnecessary complexity

That sign more than likely means that they are out of that gas.. not that it is 9.99 a gallon. We have that Rec 90 fuel around here and it's about two bucks more than regular, but it doesn't exceed the premium price by more than a buck 50. It's not that special.....

I was surprised to see it being we seem to follow California standards.
There were no restriction on the pump other than the price.

For equipment I feel safer with a known name like Sunoco Optima that is available a short distance away.
And it has a shelf life of a minimum of 3 years.
That pump screen shot was at an iffy obscure named station.

It's still more than a dollar less than what we are paying here in cali and that's considering the lowest available, most of it is $2 more a gallon easily
Luckily we only adopt CA standards and not the pricing.
Emissions is one thing but seismic requirements was always obsessive to me. Glad I don't deal with that anymore.

WOW! Those prices (besides the assumed erroneous $9.99)!

Regular here in Texas is in the $2.90's. The tier 1 mid grade I got yesterday was $3.47.

As a side note, interestingly, I see a lot of online pump price pictures showing all sort of E-something fuels. We don't have that here. We only have the three standard 10% (or less) ethanol regular, mid, and super grades. We ain't got that here corn gas here...
