Sold the VW because I was tired of the endless problems that started appearing recently, so now the yukon is due for some strut work since I'm flush with cash and with another kid on the way its time to thin the herd

Tested my Amazon fuel pressure tester... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DQKZNLH1
No issues, and accuracy within 1psi of what the FPCM tells me through the scanner..
See update next post..

While I had the engine cover off, I noticed the alternator cable insulation had worn through and throttle wiring loom had disintegrated..

I THOUGHT the pressure guage was good.. like a broken clock..
If I angled the guage left or right, the reading would swing 10psi or so each way.

Man, what waste of great logistics and delivery..
Willing to pay more for something decent.. which they don't seem to have..
Like my old boss would say "It's pretend stuff"
Would make for good fisher-price toys.. (probably cheaper too!)

Doesn't your local auto parts store "rent" them?

I have had the $20 one for years, granted it doesn't get shop use but it works when needed. it does need to be on tight to get the valve depressed.

mine had started to do that years ago, so I took a razor knife and carved a crescent moon shape on the engine cover where the cable passed under it, that way it can't rub on it.
you'll want to replace that one since the wire is exposed already

Think I'll go that route.

Try angling the guage! My schraders worked no problem, also $20..
Mine works when upright, and for the cost, the adaptors maybe worth it..
But I already have too many ***** tools taking up too much space..
Rarely check pressure, but if I do, I don't want to worry about inaccurate readings..
Acted like an angle-finder!

I have used mine all different angles, stuck it up thru the hood so I could see the pressure while driving, had it on the engine or whatever angle so I could see it from the drivers seat.

Tried to use the fuel guage one more time before I return it... Nope, varies wildy..
Not so much from leaning it, but from the hose twisting on the connector. I can make it read from 40psi to 70psi..
My feeling is it was reading 50-52psi at idle when spec should be 55-62..

I took out the hood seal and everything, prepared to just watch for variance while driving..
Hose too short, no way to make it visible, and any twist tweaks the reading big time..

To be continued...

What's a gooahj? :boxed:

On another forum where I'm an admin, we don't have any policies against cursing, but I use the anti-cursing tool to rag on misspellings. People spelling "gauge" as "guage" get the latter auto-corrected to "gooahj." There are more, such as "bumper" being spelled as "bumber" (seriously, a surprising number people think it has a "b" in the middle), which gets changed to "bum burr." I crack myself up! :rotflmao:

But seriously, that gauge situation sucks. In college, I had a Brookstone tire pressure gauge that was off by about 10 psi low and I had no idea why my tires were wearing badly.

Every time I see folks mess up the difference between "brake" (THIS or THIS) and "break" (THIS) I want to launch a dictionary at them.

It looks loke the 14 bolt axle is a little different then the 10 bolt where the springs sit.
Cracker was sitting pretty level before the swap. After the swap it now sits about 1 1/2 higher in the rear
Messed with the sensors yesturday but turns out with no air in the airbags it still high. Now I either needs shorter lift pucks or raise the frong more.

Off-topic, but did you source your axles from LQK, or find them locally?
