Strut mount holes elongated?

Recently decided to tackle the job of replacing magneride struts in my 15 Tahoe. I bought OEM BWI strut assemblies and did everything myself. On the drivers side install, I noticed the strut nut marks are now orientated to the edge of the holes vs being centered before. Should I consider reclocking or is it a non issue? (Are the elongated holes normal?)

I used the factory yellow mark on the top hot and "eyeballed the clock" when I installed these.

I did notice the original factory ones were clocked 180* of these ones. (BWI logo having inwards vs out) that changed the orientation from being centered to the edges. Does that even matter?

its quite strange as im used to a circular hole vs this elongated one. Trying to determine if this was intentional or not.

That is not normal from anything that I've seen to have an elongated hole like that. Something must have cause that, and it could not have been lateral wear from a loose top nut, as there is a clear nut/washer mark around the original center of the hole.

That being said, I believe that the top of that strut should be able to be moved to the original center of the hole, if there is no lateral binding anywhere, since the only other anchor point is a bushing at the bottom of the strut, and the bushing has some flex in that direction.

Thanks for the response. I was curious and double checked the passenger side. Oddly enough, that strut mount isn't "centered" like the driver's side was originally installed on picture above. It would seem both strut towers are "slotted" to allow the strut to rest in a natural position. Its all very odd. But looking at the passenger side confirmed this finding for me.
