Well crap. I don't know if it's all the way through or not. I can't just leave it. And I don't dare pull it until I am home (40mi away) where I can plug it or swap the spare on. I'm not even sure a plug would seal. I can hear Clint Eastwood asking "Do ya feel lucky? Well, do ya, punk?"

I was getting out of my truck at work this morning. I was running late, so I'd already drank my Mountain Dew Zero on the way (I usually wait until I'm there to open it). So that must have given me super observation power as I walked past the rear tire. It's pointed straight up where I could easily see it.

that looks pretty small, a internal patch is always the best option so swing by your favorite tire shop and pull it out there, you can or they can spray it with soap/water mix and check for bubbles, if it is a short screw nothing to worry about.

This company offers multiple size links. I took the part number from their website and bought from their store on Amazon. They are fairly robust for the price and leveled my front bar out nicely.

My Yukon stopped being a daily driver around early 2017. I drove it when the roads got bad (since it had 4wd). But really, it's mostly sat until today.

Other than the battery going bad from sitting, another thing is that it was never washed. I've never been into detailing cars, it's so much of a chore, but I figure I should start learning about it. Anyway, I've decided to practice on the hood of the Yukon to see what I could do with it. I figured that the roof and hood would need to be repainted, so I can't mess it up too bad.

Here's the hood after a wash with regular carwash soap.

Okay, going to need something a little more powerful. I decided to hit it with some Lift and Descale. Here's the before...

Here's the after...

Definitely much better. Now time to cut into that haze. I decided to try Sonax and 3D One...

You can easily tell the difference between the before picture above and the after picture below.

I still needed a little more cut, so I went with some Griot's Fast Correcting Cream to sand it down a bit before hitting it again with the 3D One.

I then decided to hit it with Collinite wax for a good coat of wax. Man, I don't know if it was this shiny when it was new!

Now, to go over the rest of the vehicle...

so I stopped by GM parts department to pick up a o'ring today. the gasket kit had 3 in it, but I said eh, oem was mint after 170k. still rubbery no cracks or anything. when I had them look it up, I noticed it called out Teflon coated o ring on the exploded view. and it definitely looks different than the 3 fel pro ones that are flat and this is shiny. Wonder if gm changed them at some point to help them last longer. this is the 2nd over 100k mile one I've pulled out. 08 and 11. both red and both is really good shape.

thought that was interesting. I ended up skipping pulling the front of the engine apart for now, I could see the tensioner plastic looked good. the chain was tight and no signs of stretch from what i could see. being a hybrid I'm guessing it probably never seen any high rpm. at least that's what I'm convincing myself haha. afm lifter will probably eat the cam before the chain tensioner goes.

I did add the little mellings pickup tube support for the heck if it.

My '13 Escalade ESV was fast approaching 177K miles and due for some maintenance. I was also experiencing an intermittent issue with the aftermarket steering gear rack I had installed earlier this year (D@mn you GM for discontinuing OEM Refurbed models).

I used this time to make a few upgrades and stole some part ideas from @91RS @KidWgn and @Doubeleive. Thanks Fellas!

-While doing this installed the Energy Suspension Steering Rack Bushings that @91RS did in his thread.

-These are a great improvement to the front end feel and would recommend to anyone replacing their steering rack to do this while you're at it.

-They're a nice piece and are definitely heavy duty compared to stock.

My front sway bar bushing/mounts were shot; But the front sway bar mount bolts were seized pretty good. So I sold myself on if these bolts are going to break and be a PITA it's going to be for a damn upgrade and I'm not putting the stock bars back on.
-Insert Hellwig front and matching rear sway bars.
-Re-used my shorter DJM front sway bar end links and re-used the DJM rear offset sway bar end links.
-A Full-Size SUV of this size just should not handle this well. The stability in corners, on highways, etc. is just beyond expectation. Highly recommend.

From what I understand, the shifter hits the floating screens in an Escalade.

There is some concern for that; From what I've found online if you get a floating screen that only requires a single din space, get a dash kit that keeps it higher up in the center stack (think in front of and blocking the analog clock), keep the screen size to < 11" and in the 9"-10" range then it should be avoidable. This recipe also appears to not interfere with the center HVAC vents either.

But yes it is a valid concern and I've spent way to much time reviewing screen dimensions, stand-off distance from the dash, and which models are actually adjustable in all of those areas as well.

The pictures that I saw showed even using the single DIN and the radio all the way at the top, it still hit the shifter. I wanted a 9” screen until I found that out on the Cadillac Forum. I don’t really want to downgrade to a 7” screen but I hate the add-on CarPlay screen I added.

yep just like the gmt800's are different as well I had flip out dvd's which is similar to a floater 20+ years ago....similar issue, had to wait for the screen to deploy before shifting.
