Should still work if new TCM is prgrammed to your original VIN I think..?

HPTuners can also save ECM and TCM files separately.

What Doub says makes sense, BBP will give you enough tunes so that you are satisfied, but they can't keep tuning your new mods.
Maybe they still have your old tune on file?

hptuners and bbp seem like totally different things to me. with bbp you're buying a tune. hpt you're buying access to your tune. it doesn't do anything without your input.

Wow, I didn't know that. In what instance would you need to replace the TCM? Is this a module inside the vehicle like the BCM, or is it inside the transmission?
If my trans fails, and I swap a used or reman one in, would I not be able to reuse my original TCM?

When I replaced my transmission, someone mentioned transferring the old TCM to the new transmission in an attempt to preserve the tune. Unfortunately, this requires opening the new transmission, which would have voided the warranty (they do come with paint markings as a telltale, not easily forged). So I elected not to do that. Also, more than one person pointed out that the TCM might have had an issue that caused the transmission solenoids to malfunction, leading to the original failure. I didn't want to take the risk that my new one would be ruined with a voided warranty. I was in the middle of moving, and needed my truck back, so I took the fastest course to getting back on the road.

it's inside the tranny. at this point it's just the price you pay to tune. if you need to replace the ecm, you will have to use credit to re license that as well.

most local tuners aren't great with drivability stuff in my experience. they charge by the hour and most people they deal with just want wot hp pulls after mods. Just talk to a tuner and tell them what you expect before they start

finally got around to running the auto bleed of the breaks on the hybrid yukon.

so many extra chambers and stuff to bleed. biggest thing is you gotta have 30psi of fluid pressure on top of the reservoir with a gal of fluid in it.

I have never had good luck with any pressure bleeder, and never even tried to go 30psi. but I gotta give it to the motive pressure bleeder with the metal cap. I plummed on a air fitting from a small compressor. turned it up to 30. got thru it all without any leaks from the bleeder and nothing exploded haha.


sadly, it made no difference at all but I'm sure it's never been done before. so can't hurt to flush the system. especially since they don't make any of the parts anymore if they fail.

Am I out of line if I say what I enjoy the absolute most about this truck (apart from doing a left crossway turn from standstill) is leaving the house/store/whatever, pressing a button on a remote inside my pocket and the rear hatch opening by itself? It keeps getting more satisfying every time I do it, I've even gotten cocky just walking off towards the driver's door then hitting the button again for auto close, time it just right and leave people at the parking lot in awe. Maybe 20 years too late but I have caught people more than once staring at how casually convenient it is, and these guys drive Teslas that should have this as standard.

Edit; so what I did today was to receive my 100 dollar rear shocks. They exist and are in my hands so I won't be able to call it a direct scam. Will post updates if I get the time to measure stuff....

Good call. I still am a BBP fan, as they've done a wonderful job on all 3 of our GM trucks and I don't mind paying Justin for his time again if I decide to make a significant modification. I suspect there was a small percentage of people abusing the unlimited tune policy and they ruined it for the rest of us. Whenever I see someone bragging about how clever they are to save money by abusing a generous policy (e.g. Harbor Freight's return policy on a generator they've used for a year without problems, just to get a new one), it annoys me.

They responded. For $400 I can buy an AutoCal with my tune loaded. They charge $750 for custom tune + AutoCal, so they are allowing for mine already being programmed. I still don't want to do business with them. But this would be the easiest way to get what I want.

I was doing around 85-90 in the car pool lane, laser went off twice (which is usually all bad) and I jumped into the lane to my right and dropped down to around 70-75
I figured the cop was up the road in the center where there is a gap, laser went off a couple more times. sure enough a motorcycle chp was where I thought he was as I passed him he didn't seem to be paying much attention to me or getting ready to pull me over but after I passed him a smidge I saw him pull out and I thought m-f better not be after me, he started catching up, the car right behind me moved over to the right and the cop pulled up behind the car that was now behind me and lit him up... whew.......close one. my new wheel bearing is all oily on the outside where the nut for the cv axle goes. I only noticed it because enough had come out, there's slots like air holes on the face where the rim and wheel hub meet. slung some spots on the rim barrel.

was going to upload a Pic. but seems to fail. maybe I've hit a limit

very odd thou. cv boot and everything behind it is dry. Just oily front side. doesn't even look like grease, to late to do anything about it tonight. guess I'll jack it up in the morning, feel for any play and keep an eye and ear out for it. might be changing a wheel bearing in a napa parking lot 1000 miles from home. yay.

If the hub is tossing a little grease it should be fine till you get home unless it is making noise, otherwise I would pull the wheel and inspect the caliper, the calipers on the gmt900 are prone to leaking in my experience.

I'll take a closer look at the brakes. I just bled them last week. I looked at the bleeder make sure it wasn't that and it's dry. but not the pistons. I don't remember seeing grease last week, but I wasn't looking for it. I could have missed it.

I just put it on in March, I would have never guessed they could throw grease out of them like that. I remember talking about the skf ones being able to be greased thru the sensor hole. seems the oem ones definitely have grease in them already, or atleast did haha.

I am wondering if I should fill that area under my new dash with JBweld..
Will that prevent cracking or accelerate it? That crack is just over the airbag support bracket.
Amazing they crack in the exact same place, that they didn't fix it with their 'updated' design.

actually I believe they did, the original dash looks different underneath, may not be 100% fixed but they added more support.
