Lots of amazing places you can explore on graded dirt roads or even not-so-graded roads in 2WD. Good tires and airing down make a big difference. If it gets really rocky or off-camber, you'll want/need 4LO.

When I last did it, there was a Jeep behind me and when we got to the top, he walked over and said "Your juevos must be so big, I can't believe they fit in your rig! Coming up here in a Suburban!"Imogene Pass, CO. That was fun when my (then) wife and I did it in 1995 in a Bronco II. I need to go back and do it with the Hoe.
Thank you. 18x9 Fuel Coverts, I believe they are +1mm offset, 285/70R18 (34x11.5) Nitto Ridge Grapplers, and either 1.5" or 2" strut spacer in the front, I can't remember. Had to trim the inner fender liner in the front a bit and the front air dam. I've gone a lot of places most people would never think to take a Yukon / XL and the departure angle has never been an issue other than banging my hitch a few times. If you plan on doing serious rock crawling, that may be a different story...That build is sick. I've thought about upgrading to a Yukon of that year with lower miles and deleting the AFM off the bat.
What tire/rim size setup are you running? Do you think the XL is a hindrance offroad with departure angles?

Imogene Pass is on my bucket list. If I were younger I'd also do Black Bear Pass in the Yukon XL or Sierra.
Watch the YouTubes of the Jeeps rolling off the road in front of you...
I've seen that rollover video. ZERO interest in doing Black Bear (although Waze tried to send me over Black Bear in the dark one time headed to Telluride.) Heck, I'm scared of heights and even Imogene scares me.
Oh my bad this post was only for ‘YUKON’ owners….
