I cant, im in NY…. A complete gutter….
Mud pic for the win! It's all skinny Jeep trails, but there are a few places that a full-size SUV will fit, mostly power-line trails. I got pretty far down the side of a mountain one day, and had a fun time getting back up to the dry parts.

Made it up and out after some strategic use of WOT, and took a while to get all the mud off.

It was everywhere, and I can still see it in my side HVAC vents. I know you're supposed to have the windows up when you're being dumb, but I needed to have my head out the window to see the big scary rocks.Mud pic for the win!
Anyone know the reliability of the front CV axles?
Somebody mentioned that they have had 3 break on them on their 08 in another forum. Which is a concern for me with AWD and if one breaks then you’re stranded, but I haven’t heard of anybody having issues with their CVs before
115,000 miles and 34" tires and still good (knock on wood!!) But I don't get on the throttle in tight spots or when I'm getting stuck. That would be a quick way to break something.Anyone know the reliability of the front CV axles?

The vast majority have no need for it. My pickups have it though. The one thing that keeps me from trying more challenging off road stuff is the lack of a skid plate protecting the fuel tank.
Don't understand why there is not one from the factory.
This ^^^^^^ is the correct answer to CV axles breaking. Treat them normally and they will last the life of the truck. You can even drive spirited and they are fine.High torque and turning = damage.

How to properly beat up your Yukon
showing up for the line of jeeps behind him, otherwise what did he expect to happen? surprised all he broke was a wheel. This seems like overkill but it's good to know that I can escape to the woods if the zombie apocalypse ever happens
And if he would have stayed on the flat trail right next to the rocks nothing would have happened….showing up for the line of jeeps behind him, otherwise what did he expect to happen? surprised all he broke was a wheel.
If he had eased up about 25% he would have likely came out unscathed for the most part
It takes off a few inches and makes a big difference.I just remembered something about what you were saying in the other thread about approach angles.
On this forum from 5 or more years ago, there were guys showing Border Patrol vehicles with cut down bumper fascias and then a bunch of Yukon guys doing it too for increased clearance. One guy did a YouTube video and did it to a 2500 Yukon XL or Suburban, don't remember.
